Mischievous Wife

In the Hospital

Sheldon had  been  waiting for hours in front of the operating room and he doesn't know what's happening inside. It's making him feel self loathing to remember the scenes that night. Had he not asked everybody to have a reunion at his house, hing might not have turned this way. If he wasn't hypocrite about his feelings, she would't have suffered this way. He's such a loser.

"Sheldon?" It's Rachel, the woman I thought I could love forever. My secretary might have called her to inform what happened.  "Where's my sister?" I could't look nor answer her in shame so I just looked at the closed operating room.

"W-what happened? How is my sister in the operating room? S-sheldon?" She asked gracefully as always.It's obvious that she is trying to suppress her emotions even if she's starting to panic. Who wouldn't? It her beloved sister that's in grave danger. I looked at her is my heart doesn't hurt anymore, I have long forgotten my feelings for her. At the moment it is for Anna that my heart hurts the most.

"W-what did you do to my sister Sheldon?" Her tears started to fall and wen it did, it poured. I am starting to break down as well from too much emotions.

"I-i'm s-sorry R-achel" I stuttered.

" I begged you to marry her then because I saw how much she loves you. She was the one who prepared the sandwiches I was giving you back in our university. She's clumsy and noisy but I loved her so much.Oh my poor sister, what have I done?" She's loosing herself and she started bawling. She looked so pitiful  but elegant. " I saw her loosing herself by trying to imitate me but i didn't mind her because I thought you'd learn how to love her someday."

" I did but I was too arrogant to admit" I softly told my self but Rachel heard it.

" I won't judge you, but what ever decision my sister will have I will follow. Just A-ana, oh my poor Anna come out of that cold room. I am just here  for you" Rachel cried.

We waited in silence the hours passed and the sun started to rise from the horizon. I never closed my eyes fearing that I might miss something if I do. 

" Rachel?" Rachel was startled when we heard the commotions outside.  It was Daniel. He seemed like he never slept  a wink. When Rachel saw him she started crying again. After a brief hug Daniel let her go , went straight to me and started punching. I knew it was coming but I didn't budge. This is what I needed for my arrogance. I needed for someone to show me how i***t I was. 

My body was too exhausted from the night before so I few punch, I lay flat on the ground. My secretary and Rachel seem to be flabbergasted to stop Daniel. When they came to their senses, Rachel started pulling Daniel and  My secretary came to my rescue.

"How dare you hurt her! he shouted. I swear to their parent's grave that I will never let you hurt her after this!" He shouted. He's more than furious than Rachel who was always been calm. She was just hugging Daniel's waist so he won't come to me again. " I shouldn't have tolerated Rachel then so you won't have put Anna's life in jeopardy!" He added.

Of course Daniel has the right to tell me these things since the three grew up together in one neighborhood. Daniel is like an older brother to Anna and he had always been into Rachel. Well that's what I found out when I sent someone to investigate Rachel back in college.

A couple of months ago when their father passed away due to an accident he was the one who's acting as the elder of the family. Oh, me? I was at my office working my butts off. I only attended the old man's burial but left just as  soon as he was laid rest on the ground.

I have done so much that hurt Anna but she was just too quiet. Gone was the jovial person that brightens up wherever she goes. And that was because of me. I wanted the divorce to run away from my feelings but in the process, I ruined her. 

Everyone in the hall was startled when the emergency alarmed and more doctor are running into it. 

"We're losing the patient" a shout inside the emergency room was heard. 

Rachel is laying limp on Daniel's cradle while he is trying to pacify her.

"Oh lord no... Please just give me a chance to atone for the things I've done." for the first time in my broken life, I started to kneel and pray.

The door closed again and we waited in fear for long hours. At three in the afternoon, the five doctors came out looking exhausted. 

"Doctor?" Rachel started. We were all scared to ask about the situation. 

" She's a fighter." a female doctor emotionally said. I can see how much has Anna gone through inside the operating room in her eyes. " let's just give her sometime to rest and be observed then we can bring her to the ICU. Just after we heard what the doctor said, Rachel collapsed in Daniel's arms.

"Rachel, honey!"She seem exhausted from the long wait. Daniel quickly brought Rachel in one room to be assisted by doctors. 

I slowly walked and touched the door of the operating room. " Hang in there Anna. We are all waiting for you here outside. You see, Rachel came fast last night and Daniel rushed hoe from a business trip to see you. We are all here. We l-love you. I-i l-love you A-nna and I am going to prove my feelings for you... Just continue fighting Anna." 

" Boss, let her rest for a while. I brought you fresh clothes. you can change first while waiting for little Anna to wake up." It's Anton, my secretary.

"Little Anna?"

"Oh, you never wanted me ta call her Mrs. Summers and she doesn't want me to call her 'maam' and requested us to just call her by her name so we all call her little Anna." He explained hesitantly.

So many things I don't know... So much things I missed all because of my arrogance.
