Author’s POV The next morning, Rosie couldn't stop thinking about the concert and Aaron in particular. Then suddenly Anna chimed as she zipped her suitcase “ Rosie you better stop thinking about your superstar” “I know you are still thinking about him”. “Of course Anna! What do you expect? I mean who gets pulled up on stage by Aaron Jackson and doesn't think about it?” “You know he never asks any of his female fans to join him on stage” Rosie declared. Anna gave her a crooked smile and eyed her curiously “So you think there’s more to it?” Rosie knitted her brows in deep thought “I don't know Anna, I don't know”. Anna stood up and grabbed her suitcase looking uninterested in the conversation, and that didn't go unnoticed by Rosie. She thought she was just exhausted so she didn't talk about it. “Okay bestie, I have to go now, mama’s calling” She opened her arms and leaned in for a hug. “Don’t miss me much Bella” Anna teased and winked playfully. “Oh, just shut up and let me hug you” They hugged each other tightly. Rosie helped her with her suitcase and saw her off. ********** It's February 14th which means Valentine's Day, she decided to take herself out for dinner and love herself in the absence of a lover. “Oh how much I love having rich and busy parents” she exclaimed happily as she got up from the soft couch in her living room and headed to her room. Rosie rummaged through her closet which was filled with outfits for different occasions yet she couldn't decide on what to wear for a casual dinner. She looked at the outfits annoyingly “I really don't want to wear any of these, maybe I should eat at home” But something in her head quickly went against it “No I am going, I don't wanna die of boredom here” She finally settled for a lilac sexy fitted off-shoulder dress. She did a light makeup that fits her perfectly sculptured face and sprayed her sweet perfume. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the valet took her car Lambo, and parked it while she sauntered into the restaurant. The moment she stepped through the tall glass restaurant doors, a wave of soft jazz and bright candlelight greeted her. The place smelled heavenly of different food flavors. A neatly dressed hostess appeared almost instantly, her smile polite and polished. “Good evening ma’am. Welcome ma’am. Do you have a reservation?. Rosie smiled sweetly “Yes, Rosie Clark, I made a private corner reservation”. The hostess glanced at the sleek tablet in her hand, then her brows furrowed in confusion “I am so sorry ma’am, I can't find a reservation under that name”. Rosie was clearly annoyed and wished Anna were with her to handle this. “But I made a reservation a few hours ago, and I even got an e-mail confirmation” The hostess looked down apologetically” I am sorry ma’am, there might have been a glitch, and all the tables are fully reserved, it's Valentine's day”. Before Rosie replied. A smooth masculine voice interfered. “Don’t worry Miss, my reservation was confirmed and it’s for us”. To say that Rosie was shocked is an understatement. Her jaw nearly dropped when she saw whose that voice belonged to. And there he was, standing in all his glory, an amused smile playing on his lips, one hand casually placed in his pocket. Aaron Jackson. The hostess looked between them in utter confusion. Rosie nodded towards her and she left to attend to other guests. He bowed playfully and smiled clearly enjoying her reaction “This way ma’am”. He held Rosie’s hand and guided her towards their private corner. Rosie looked down at their intertwined hands, too stunned to process what was happening around her. It was as if her brain completely melted, she didn't say a word. He pulled out a chair for her “ Please sit, Rosie” but she didn't move, she just stared at him like he wasn't real. He gave a low chuckle, the sound deep and rich, and that was when she sat down and he sat opposite her. Rosie stuttered” I-uhm…thank you for sharing your space with me, you didn't have to do that” She finished in a surprisingly calm tone. He slowly leaned back on his chair, his eyes fixed on her as if trying to read her every thought. “I sighted an old friend and I stood to greet, that was when I noticed everything that was going on”. “Oh,” Rosie said absentmindedly Aaron tilted his head slightly, the corners of his mouth twitching into a smirk” You looked like you were about to smash the poor hostess’s head at any minute” Rosie's mouth fell open and she chuckled.“To be honest, I wanted to” she whispered and leaned forward as if trying to tell him a secret. He leaned forward as well, their faces inches apart, his eyes focused on her lips, then back to her eyes “You interest me, Rosie,” he said, his voice low and honest. Rosie couldn’t help but smile softly” Why though? We met just yesterday “ Aaron stared at her softly” And that is what stuns me too, there is something about you that feels real, and more like home sweetheart”. Rosie gasped softly, eyes widening.”Did you just call me sweetheart?” He smirked. “Did I” “Yes, you did”. He shrugged casually, sipping his drink as if he had said something casual.” Must’ve slipped out”. Rosie crossed her arm pretending to be offended but clearly blushing. “You are not as innocent as your songs make you sound” Aaron’s lips curved into a slow, knee-weakening smirk” Wait till I make you forget your name”.Then he winked at her and smiled mischievously. Rosie blinked, clearly amused” And what is that supposed to mean?” “Last night”, he said, leaning closer, “when you came on stage, you moved in a way that will get any man on his knees” Rosie laughed nervously. “That wasn't any move, it was panicking with rhythm” Aaron threw his head back and laughed, that deep rich sound that made her stomach twist in excitement. “Panicking with rhythm. I'm stealing that line”. “Go ahead”, she said with mock seriousness. “But I expect credit in your next album” He looked at her like she had just said something adorable “You listen to my albums? “Religiously”, she said before realizing how that sounded. Aaron raised a brow, obviously holding back a laugh “religiously, huh?” “I mean not in a weird way!” she said quickly, a bit embarrassed. “Just…. I really like your music. It's like therapy to my soul”. He nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving hers, genuinely this time, ”thank you, Rosie, that means a lot to me, more than you can tell”. There was a small pause, the air between them thickened and the place suddenly became too small for Rosie to breathe. Rosie looked down at her napkin twirling it nervously. “So how does someone like you end up alone in a restaurant on this day”. He smirked, amused by her boldness “Someone like me?” “Yeah,” she said. “The famous Aaron Jackson”, she quoted dramatically with her fingers and smiled softly. He looked at her for a moment before answering “I don't have anyone to be with tonight. And sometimes, the noise gets too loud, you forget what silence feels like” Her chest tightened. There was something about the way he said it, calm, honest, and lonely at once. She smiled softly” So dinner for one turns to dinner for two?”. He gave her a small flirtatious smile” I don't mind the upgrade “ Luckily for Rosie, the waiter arrived with their orders and they ate in comfortable silence. By the time they were done, soft, slow, and romantic music was played in the background. Couples were dancing slowly while looking into each other’s eyes. Aaron caught her looking at the couples that were dancing, through the slightly shifted curtains of their private corner. He stood abruptly and extended his hands towards her “ May I have this dance?” She smiled softly and placed her tiny hands in his big ones, and they fit perfectly. He guided her towards the space beside their table. He held her gaze with so much intensity and unspoken words, they moved to the rhythm of the sound. His hand slightly touched her bare skin and the curve of her hips sending shivers down her spine. He placed his head on her forehead moving to the sound of the music, his hands now placed firmly on her waist, their lips inches apart “You are so beautiful Rosie…and tempting” he added. She looked at him wide-eyed in surprise when he placed a finger on her lips and brushed it lightly. “I want to kiss you right now but I know it's not right,” he said in a deep husky voice that made her knees weaken while looking straight into her eyes and moving slowly to the tune. She stared into his desperate eyes for a moment, her own eyes filled with dangerous desire to taste him, and in no time she crashed her lips onto his. The kiss wasn't rushed or uncertain, it was a slow-burning kiss, a kiss that expressed what words could not. Their tongues danced together as he tasted every inch of her lips. His hands slid to the back of her neck, deepening the connection, making her shiver and moan in pleasure. He had never kissed any girl on their second meeting yet it felt so right this time. They both pulled back and gasped for air while breathing heavily. As if on alert, Rosie quickly pulled away from his hold, she grabbed her bag and quickly sauntered out of the restaurant with her heart beating loudly and threatening to leave her ribcage. It felt so right, yet so wrong at the same time.
