DAY 5, A.M

1007 Words
The boy wakes up, still in the royal bed, but sweaty and gasping for air.   “Just a nightmare, calm down.” he told himself.  He looked out of the window and found that the sun had just risen.   “I don’t really feel like sleeping again.” He said and boy decided to leave the castle without his bow and arrows.   He thought about heading to the ramparts as early as it was. The path towards the place was short so there wasn't much time for him to think about his isolation, however the moment he reached its front door, he saw a figure in the nearby bushes swiftly moving from one tree to the next.   The boy, although scared, composed himself and said “Is anybody there?!” He took chase on the mysterious figure but just a few seconds after he had begun running, it was completely out of sight.   The girl, now hiding far from the boys' location, thought to herself as her heart raced.   “I didn't expect him to be up this early, that's for sure, he may have already seen me and found out I was behind all this, so much for my discreet methods.”    She looked to her side and said “Tell me where he is” and in a few moments, the girl said “Thank you.” as she began to walk back towards the ramparts.             “What was that? Could've been an animal for all I know, a deer perhaps? Are deer even present here?” The boy kept thinking about his weird encounter as he returned to the ramparts. He opened its doors and began climbing its stairs.   Halfway through the climb, the boy found that he was at a point where he could cross from one tower to another through the walls that connect them.   “Hmm,” said he. “the letter said that I am to climb the highest point of the ramparts.”. He looked at each tower and judged which one was the tallest.   “that one.” he said, pointing to a tower not too far from his location.   As he walked from tower to tower through the tops of the walls, he began thinking again to himself.   “What if that encounter had something to do with these mystery letters and the lute playing I've been hearing for a while? If so, then I guess it’s safe to assume I’m not the only human around, also, that other person definitely isn't hostile, for if he or she was, I would've been dead a long time ago. But that person is quite smart to only hint his or her own existence through letters and lute playing.   No wait, there was another time that that person’s existence was hinted, back when I heard that voice after falling from the tree! Yes, that voice guided me towards the right direction, it was a girl's voice too, so the mystery individual is a girl probably? Well, all of this is merely speculation, but it is possible, and because it is so, I shall prepare for I would do if it were true.”   The boy was now climbing the highest tower and although the girl who had just arrived the first one couldn't see him, she knew this and began climbing herself until she reached the wall bridges between towers.   “If he's smart, he would've already found out a few things about me. But with how he acted the past few days, I don’t think that it’s likely based on the things he assumed, like how he thinks he is being visited by some ghost.”   “It would be bad if he could see me from there.” she thought “but isn't my cover already blown? No, no its not. I must go on.” The girl, now at the second tower, began walking faster as the boy was nearing the top.   “This whole climb took much longer than I thought” I knew this place far and high but I didn’t expect to walk this long, did I spend an hour or two just walking and climbing?   Upon reaching the top, the boy found that it was nearly noon based on where the sun was located.   “Oh, wow” He thought.   He didn’t realize the first time, but soon enough, he found himself to be hungry the moment he smelled something.   “Fish?” he said to himself and there at the top of the tower lay a small fire with a few fishes ready to be eaten.   “I suppose I haven't had meat in a while now huh? How thoughtful of her...”   “No wait, don’t assume everything you think is true!” He said, bopping his head. “For all I know, I’m being watched by a bunch of creepy primitive people who are just waiting for the right opportunity.”   “Actually, that wouldn’t explain how the notes I received were in English… Whatever!”   He began eating the fish and did so heartily, as he was downing his second fish, he said “It’s quite weird to roast fish at the highest tower of all places, but I guess it was put here knowing I would arrive here sooner or later, it’s good that I arrived now though, otherwise, it would've gone cold.”   The girl, now reaching the tallest tower, did not climb to its roof where the boy was, rather, she wrote a letter and left it by the ladder where it couldn't be missed.   “That's that then” she said as she climbed down to the base of that tower, exiting towards a small field of grass and flowers, instead of heading there, she went another direction with the prison in mind.   The boy had eaten all the fish that was there and felt satisfied, he lay down for a moment, looking at the blue sky. The wind around him was strong and fresh and so he tried to take a nap but just before he could drift off, he sat himself awake.   “No wait, I'm up here for a reason!” he said as he sat back up and began looking around for anything noteworthy around him.   From behind him, he spotted a knapsack, “Ah, there!” he said. He began looking through it and it inside, he found a few papers bundled together.
