Chapter 13 They made it to the airport thirty minutes before the flight. Sarah had guessed that Amir was someone important but seen how he was taken care of at the airport, she had to recheck her thought as her curiosity was eating her on the inside. Call her an i***t, here she was traveling with a stranger to an unknown territory, where she had no one, where her faith may or may not be questioned and she didn't know the least bit more about her temporary employer. Forget the fact that he was handsome. She made it a mental note to question Amir once inside the plane. She knew that they will be traveling via a private airplane and upon seen it, she acted like it was no big deal but, on the inside, she was screaming and going crazy. She quickly took a picture of the plane to send to her siblings and Anna. With Amir guiding her every step like she was a child; they boarded the plane. The interior of the plane was of a mahogany color with off white chairs and a glass table with black legs. It screams total masculinity. The host who happened to be men led both of them to their seat. As she had wished, she had the window side seat. Believing that Amir was going to sit in another chair, she turned her attention to the flat-screen television that was in front of her. The small screen TV couldn't have been more than 20 inches wide. It was glued to the wall that was connected to the pilot cabin. Her favorite part about traveling was always viewing the available movies. Amir watched as Sarah settled in her seat and completely tuned out everything around her as she explores the channels on the TV screen. He had expected her to be whining about...well let say he didn't know exactly, but he was at least expecting some kind of reaction especially when she boarded the plane. But the girl acted as if it was all-natural. He had seen her taking pictures and had even had a glimpse of her phone and saw that she had sent it to a contact on her w******p. She was different than any other woman he had ever met; he could tell the moment he had seen her at the banquet. Thus, as he sat next to her, his inside was a wreck, for the first time he was nervous. Of course, there were other seats, but he wanted to enjoy her presence and why not be her knight in shining armor in case something happens, not that he wishes so. As if on cue, Sarah turned toward him with a look that could have sent any other man on the other side of the plane. But he was no other man, so he returned her look with a raised eyebrow. She worked her mouth but instead of saying something, she turned her attention back to the TV screen. Disappointed, yes, he was hoping that she would have said something. He hadn't heard her speak since they left their friends at the airport. Her voice was like the sound of a sweet melodic piano mixed with a violent. He didn't believe that he'll ever get tired of hearing her. As the captain announces, that they were ready to take off, he attached his seat belt and laid his head on the head of the sit. As he closed his eyes, he heard her ask "is there also a room with a bed on the plane?" Opening his eyes, he turned toward her and pointed behind them "the door you see at the end is a room with an internal bathroom attached." He saw her smile and shakes her head and turned her attention toward the window. This is going to be a very long flight. Three hours into the flight, Sarah had watched the newest star's war movie that she omitted to see at the movie theater. Next, to her, Amir was typing away on his computer. Not wanting to watch another movie yet, she observes Amir. She was trying to determine what type of person he was. After a couple of minutes of just observing she decided to question him "what is the meaning of your name" Amir stopped his typing and thought for a second. "My first name has almost three meaning" Sarah didn't say a word as she waited for him to continue. Sighing Amir removed his hand from the keyboard and turned to Sarah "Amir holds his origin from Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Hebrew" "Wait," said Sarah, "you said three meaning, yet you just cited four languages" "If you weren't impatient, you would have waited for me to continue," said Amir with a smile Sarah fell a bit embarrassing but with a small whisper she said sorry, she nodded for Amir to continue. "As I was saying" say Amir "from the Arabic/Hebraic origin it is derived from three letters 'AMR' which means 'to give orders' or 'a prince'. As for the Persian meaning, it means 'the ones who will never die'. As for my last name Saab, it means 'the morning light' or 'rigorous, serious and hard' "Wow," said Sarah "Amir Saab, the rigorous prince who gives orders" As he hears her say his whole name, chills ran all over his body. Not seeing his physical reaction to which he was thankful for, Sarah continued "So are you a prince then Mr. Saab" "Would it crush your dream if I were to tell you that I was not?" "A little bit," said she with a smile "Sorry to crush your fantasy but I am no prince, as my name state it, I am just a normal person like anyone else" "I won't say you are like anyone else, Amir, you are different and your name suits you" "How is that so?" "For one, you love to give orders" "That may be true" "Not maybe, it is" "And it suits me?" "Oh yes, you carry yourself as someone who demands respect and expects everything to be done promptly. Now that I think about it, I don't think someone could stand up to you without facing the repercussion afterward" Amir didn't want to confirm how right she was but except, there was one person that had ever refuse him. He certainly was not talking about his two best friends, they didn't count. But that very person was sitting right next to him and she had set him straight without realizing it. He remembers his mother's words "one day my dear son, you will find a woman that will stand up to you and bring you to your knees and I hope to be there when that happens" he could still remember the way she had laughed as she had said those words. All because he had sequestrated her inside the house and refuse to let her step out in the dangerous street of their city. "Amir, earth to Amir" As he slowly comes back from his memory, he hears Sarah calling his name "I am sorry what did you say" Sarah wanted to ask him, where had he gone too decided not to, but asked him instead what he hadn't heard "have your parents ever tell you about the reason why they named you so" At the mention of his parents, a dark cloud came over Amir's face, and he grips the chair without realizing so. Sarah saw the change in him, quickly back out by saying "you don't have to answer, I was just being curious" Sensing what had happened, Amir took a deep breath "it is ok Sarah, it is hard talking about my parents" "Why?" An innocent question to Sarah but a sorrow-filled answered for Amir "simply because they are no longer among the leaving" was all Amir’s said before turning toward his laptop and resume his typing. Sarah sensing that was the end of their easy-going conversation turned her attention back to the TV screen, thinking, for now, she would let go but another question had been burning her mind ever since she boarded the plane and she was afraid to ask. But she will not get an answer, not until she asked and she certainly didn't want to wait till she arrived in his homeland to found out. "So, Amir, how rich are you?" Amir's hand froze on his keypad, after hearing Sarah question, what kind of question was that, he thought? Not sure on how to answer her question, he asked "why do you want to know" Not taking offense with his question, and happy that his little sour mood had vanished, Sarah went straight to the point "Look I can understand you do not want to tell me, but I am working for you from now on, even if it is for a short time. On top of that, I am heading to your country to which I will be a total stranger. I don't want when I arrived, I found myself in a certain pertinent situation to which I will probably not know how to react for the sake of respecting your culture. So, the best way is to tell me a bit about you, that way I can prepare myself for this new reality that I will be facing in the coming hours. Knowing about your fortune would help me determine how I should behave myself. Does that make sense?" Amir thought that her explanation did make of bit of sense, but he remembers that Sarah was a writer; he was reluctant to give out too much about himself. Sensing his hesitation, Sarah continued "I promise I won't write any article about you unless you authorize me" Could she be trusted? Thought Amir, and how is that knowing about his fortune help her in any way, but as he plunges his eyes into hers, he saw the truth. Suddenly he remembered something Guillermo had told him years ago "You can't calculate or control every single thing every single time Amir, there are times you have to leap and hope that it will turn out to be in your favor, if not you just turn around and take another leap" of course he never liked that advice, so he never used it. But with Sarah, something tells him that he could for once, just let go. His instinct never failed him. Deciding to follow his instinct and the advice of Guillermo, he turned off his laptop and face Sarah. "In my country, I am what you called a businessman"
