Chapter 53 "Sarah," says Amir, he watches as she struggles to keep her eyes open, relief and something else he couldn't describe went through his heart. With his other hand he held on to her hand, he touches her face as a lone tear fell from his eyes. She looks at him for a few seconds before closing her eyes again; he almost panics until he realizes that the sound of her monitor hadn't changed.
