**Seth’s POV** (Present Time) For centuries, I’ve been to every part of this world. I’ve seen how the world has changed. How people’s lives can easily come and go. For someone like me, I knew all and have seen all. I’ve had thousands of treasures no man can have. I have everything any mortal could dream of having. But I wasn’t happy at all. No amount of gold can change what I have been feeling for centuries now. /My King/ I took a deep breath. Inhaling the cold winds, trying to find the king’s scent. My king hid himself from the world. I’ve tried everything I could to find him. Gave up every treasure I’ve had but he is nowhere to be found. I was to obey him and protect him, but I failed. The only task I was given by the only woman I love who died in my arms. /Protect him Seth. You are meant for this task. Obey him like you how you obeyed me. Be his strength, his eyes, his mouth... be his everything. Be his brother and be his friend. Love him like how much you love me./ The Countess, the only daughter of Count Dracula, so precious and beautiful in my eyes. Her voice still echoed in my heart. Her last wish before she took her heart out to let us escape from vampire hunters when Seraphim and I were still young lads. A tear fell from my eyes. I still cried for her. She was the only woman I adored. And I failed her when her only son got hurt because of my negligence. “Where are you my lord? Why haven’t you showed yourself to me yet?” I watched the busy streets below, from the balcony of the most expensive penthouse in this city. I’m known to be the youngest bachelor and the richest of them all. I have all kinds of business in every part of this world. I look like a twenty three year old successful adult, but that is only in the human's eyes. I was born in the 9th century. I am the strongest vampire created by the countess. Second in command to the heir of Count Dracula. Drank a royalty’s blood to fulfill an oath. I’m on a mission to find the heir to Count Dracula’s throne, since we got separated after the palace was raided by vampire hunters three centuries ago. I closed my eyes, remembering the king’s sorrowful face, he asked me to leave and hide. I still feel his pain every time I see his eyes in my memories. His blood that courses through my veins are a constant reminder of his pain. /My lord. Where could you be?/ “Are you thinking of him again?” I glanced at my beautiful girl standing by the door. She stood next to me and laid her head on my shoulder. I kissed her head and we looked in each other's eyes. She gave me a small smile and I returned one to her. “You’ve been thinking a lot about him lately after you saw him in your memory again the other night. You haven’t told me about that dream yet.” She laid her head on my shoulder again. I watched the night sky as I thought about my dream. “It was vast mansion owned by a vampire hunter. Everyday me and the king would stay hidden in the forest to watch someone. Someone very precious to him.” “What year is that?” She asked. “That was three centuries ago. He brought me there and told me about everything.” “What was it? What did he tell you?” She looked at me. I took a deep breath remembering the face of the human who made the king’s heart beat. “The king told me, to protect him with my life. To do everything for that boy as I do for him. I swore an oath and he had me drank his blood. Marking me as the strongest of all non-royalty vampires.” “Who were you supposed to protect? A human?” She asked curiously. “Yes a human. His heart’s chosen mate. The king fell in love with a human.” She gasped, “you never told me that before.” I looked at her and smiled. I lean closer and kissed her. She smiled and she wiped the lipstick stain on my lips. “The king is out there somewhere. I could feel it. I know he still lives. His heart still beats although not as how it used to be.” “What do you mean, not how it used to be?” I sighed, “his heart beats quietly. Like it’s sleeping, but I still feel his pain.” She wrapped her arms on my arm and I lean my head on hers. “How could you be sure that he is still alive? You said you haven’t seen him since year 1800s.” “We wouldn’t be talking to each other right now if he had perished already. I drank his blood that made him my master too, apart from the countess.” “I’m alive because of his blood. As long as he lives I do too,” I pinched her cheek lightly. I brushed my thumb lightly on her jawline. “But… What if he dies, what will happen to you? To us?” I looked at her worried face. I cupped her face and smiled, “don’t you have a night class to get to tonight?” “Yes I do. I want you to take me there,” she smiled. She turns around and I realized she wore the dress I gave her. “You’re so beautiful. I will make sure to drive you to school later.” I kissed her again. She walked towards the door. My little vampire. “Cherry?” I called her again. She stopped holding the door open, “yes my lord?” “Have fun in school okay,” I smiled at her. “Always will, my lord,” she winked at me before she left and closed the door. I watched the night sky, the stars shine bright tonight. I was ready to leave when a cold breeze blew. I stiffened, I knew that scent anywhere I go. That was the same scent that made the king’s heart beat. I turned around and watched every person passing by the building. With my keen sense of sight, I can see clearly every faces walking below. One face I seemed to recognize. I stood on the railing of my balcony, ready to jump. I inhaled the scent from the wind and it made my nose flare. I can’t be mistaken. It was the same scent. I jumped from the penthouse and without anyone noticing me, I lightly landed my feet on the ground. I waited patiently as one by one the humans passed by. The scent was getting stronger. I inhaled the air again and I could never be mistaken. It has the same ambrosial scent that the king loved. My eyes grew wide as one human was walking towards me. I couldn’t describe what I felt when I saw his face the moment he looked at me. He had the same exact beauty. His features were the very same features on the king’s mate. For the first time in centuries, I had hope of finding my king. I can make things right for him now. I could fulfill my oath. /My king, if you can hear me. He lives, he is in this century./ He accidentally bumped into me and it made the scent stronger. He turned to stop and look at me. We stared at each other. If the king sees him, he will be overjoyed. I am sure he is his reincarnation. He suddenly spoke which made me more sure of him. “I’m sorry,” he smiled and bowed. His companion pulled him and they glanced at me when they walked away. I smiled and felt the overwhelming joy of seeing my king and him together again. /He had been reincarnated, Seraphim./ I watched, as the king’s reincarnated mate walked away from me. /Hear me my king. I found Jinri./ * * * (Meanwhile) In an ancient forest far from the city. A forest that reeked of age, with centuries of snapping branches crashing to the forest’s floor and rotting silently. Something buried deep into the tangled heart of this primeval forest, is about to reveal its dark secret to the world. The ground moves and a noise like extended thunder echoed through the dark forest. Centuries-old trees shakes as the vibration came from below its roots. The ground breaks and cracks leading to an underground grave guarded by darkness, blotting out any sunlight. One of the grave headstones moved and opened slightly. A delicate, thin and pale looking hand came out and moved the grave marker that covered its coffin. A young male slowly sat up, covered in dirt. His hair disheveled from being buried for three hundred years. He looked around as he inhaled the air around him. His body shuddered from the ambrosial scent he inhaled. He touched the skeleton next to him. He breathes the air through his mouth and it felt like he filled his lungs with this scent. It filled his body with euphoria knowing that this scent is the only reason why his heart beats. He was immediately intoxicated, he stood up and walked out of the grave, bare bodied. He tried to learn the things around him. Everything was coming back, memories of blood made his mouth watered. His eyes roamed around to find the nearest prey to quench the enduring thirst on his throat, only remembering that he doesn’t want any human blood. Never anymore after the death of someone very precious to him. His mate’s death made him stop walking. He remembered every piece of age-old memories of how his mate perished like everyone else that he knew. His knees hit the ground as he felt an excruciating pain in his chest. He knew the scent he smells just now is not the same person but someone with the same blood, but never his mate. The wind blew and he heard running footsteps. He listened and vanished into thin air following the running animals. Within seconds, he was in front of a huge grizzly bear. The animal was startled it howled at him. He didn’t flinch at all, he immediately launch himself towards the enormous animal. The bear knew the danger in its life, it fought back engraving its sharp claw on the male’s body. The bear’s claw left a mark on his chest it made him back away. He launched himself at the animal again, this time tackled it down to the dirt. The animal roared on his ear. Nevertheless, the young male sinked his razor sharp canines to the bear’s throat. He clasped both of his arms around the animal’s body holding it in place. The animal struggling for its life, however, its blood started to grace the vampire’s mouth to his throat. He consumed the animal’s blood in seconds. Blood trickled from his mouth to his chest as soon as he let go of the animal. He found another animal wandering through the woods. He killed again and again until his thirst was quenched but never sated. As blood gave life to his body, he remembered one person who called his name tonight. His trusted companion. His eyes adjusted to the dark easily. He dissipates from the dark forest and materialized in a balcony. He stood outside carefully watching, waiting for the right time to attack. Men wearing black clothes were gathered in this room. He inhaled his subordinate’s scent from inside the room, he knew that he had found his companion. He watched him stood up from where he is seated and got out of the door. He whispered through the wind, “Seth…” He smirked when he saw a young woman walking very close to the balcony door. He knew that he needed more blood to regain his strength, so he can find who had that ambrosial scent his mate had. He knew this woman was a young vampire and drinking her blood to the last drop will replenish some of the thirst he had for centuries. He went inside the room unnoticed, he stood behind the young woman. The moment she noticed him, she tried to escape from him. But he was quick, he grabbed her neck and she shrieked. The young male’s fangs immediately came out, he was to sink his teeth in her throat when the men inside the room attacked him. He held onto her neck tightly as he fought the other two men. He threw one of them on the wall and the other he held captive by the throat. Even if he is thirsty, he still has the strength to kill vampires. The vampire in his hand struggled to breath as he looked at the woman on his arm. Even as a vampire, the young woman was terrified of him. He was about to bite her neck, when more men came to the room pointing guns at him. Then Seth came inside the room, he was shocked and surprised. His eyes had tears on them about to fall. He gestured the men to lower their weapons. He heard Seth’s voice broke when he whispered his name, “my lord? Seraphim?” That made him stop, it’s been centuries since someone mentioned his name. He looked at Seth as he walked closer to him. “My lord it’s me, Seth. Please sire, let the woman go and I will take her place.” “Seth?” He looked at Seth face, as he tried to recognize him. His face has changed, he doesn’t seem to be the same person, but he still has those eyes that looked like his companion. “Yes my lord. Your majesty it’s me. Your second in command,” Seth approached carefully. Seraphim let go of the other but he was still holding onto the woman. Seth touched his arm carefully with his fingertips. Seth smiled at him and he slowly let go of the woman on his arm. But one vampire suddenly shot Seraphim with silver bullet on the arm. He growled and pushed the woman away trapping Seth in his arms instead. Every vampire in the room pointed their guns towards them. “Stop! Don’t! Whatever he does do not hurt him. He could kill us all. Just leave.” Seraphim tightened his arms around Seth’s neck, causing him to gasped for air. The young woman cried and wanted to go to him, but he raised his hand slowly halting her. “Get everyone out, I'll take care of this.” Everyone went out worried about their boss. One of the vampires grabbed the woman and pulled her to go out, but she stopped. Seth spoke to the man holding the girl, “please Hobbs, get her out of this room.” She cried, “no Seth, I can’t leave you.” “I’m sorry, Cherry my love, but whatever you’ll witness, remember that this is what I do for him,” Seth smiled at her. Seth spoke to Seraphim, “do whatever you want to do with me sire. I owe you everything.” As soon as Seth said that, Seraphim ripped his suit and exposed his neck and shoulder. Seraphim’s brown eyes turned luminous scarlet indicating his royalty. Cherry and Hobbs realized that this young male holding Seth captive is their long lost king. Cherry covered her mouth in shock as Seraphim sink his teeth on Seth’s neck. He pulled Seth to him, hugged him tight as if Seth’s bones will crush. The pain on Seth’s face are seen. Seraphim grabbed his hair backwards exposing more of his neck. He drinks as if he will consume all his blood to the last drop. Cherry tried to ran to them but Hobbs stopped her. She made a muffled scream on her hands when Seraphim ripped Seth shirt away exposing half of his body. The king’s hand roamed around to touch every part of Seth’s body. She felt the lust in their blood. She turned her face away towards Hobbs' chest to hide away the jealousy she felt. The two males looked as if they were long lost lovers. But she knew that when vampires drink blood, it’s an overwhelming feeling of lust and s*x for both being. She felt Hobbs carried her out of the room, the last thing she heard was a moan escaping Seth mouth as his king drinks his blood.
