Evren's POV By the time Friday evening arrived, I had already attended three meetings, signed two contracts, and approved next quarter's investment proposal. None of it had required much thought. I had become frighteningly good at functioning without feeling. The driver pulled the car to a smooth stop outside Lumière, one of Asteris' most exclusive restaurants. Its glass façade reflected the golden lights of the city, while luxury cars lined the entrance one after another. Valets moved gracefully between vehicles, welcoming politicians, celebrities, and executives with practiced smiles. Five-star restaurants had a way of making everything look beautiful. Even lies.
