The Day He Married Someone Else

1083 Words

Elaris's POV Morning arrived quietly. I opened my eyes before the sun had fully risen, momentarily forgetting where I was. The white ceiling. The faint scent of antiseptic. The steady hum of hospital equipment. Then yesterday returned. The doctor's voice. You're two weeks pregnant. My hand instinctively rested against my stomach beneath the blanket. It still didn't feel real. A gentle knock interrupted the silence before the door opened. Dr. Warren stepped inside, a tablet tucked beneath one arm. "Good morning, Miss Elaris." "Good morning, Doctor." He smiled politely as he walked toward my bed. "How are you feeling today?" "A little better." "And the dizziness?" "It's gone." "Any chest pain?" I slowly shook my head. "No." He nodded with satisfaction. "That's good."
