CHAPTER NINE
Everything changed when the bushes suddenly gave way and a monstrous figure stepped out. I shut my eyes then, not wanting to see anything I wasn’t ready for.
"Hey! Sorry, didn't know anyone was around here.” The “monster” extended a hand. “My name's Roger."

"Please don't hurt us," I pleaded, my voice sounding muffled for some reason. Jack was surprisingly taking this very boldly or was too damn scared to talk.
"Hurt you?" The voice sounded surprised. "And why would I do that?"
"Because you eat humans," I replied, my own voice muffled in Jack’s shirt. The gorilla's voice sounded strangely like normal human’s now that I was thinking about it.
