"But momma, I don't wanna go." I whined like a little boy.

"You are coming whether you like it not." then she knocked on the door.

Then some lady comes to the door and thet smiled and laughed, hugging each other.

"Oh my goodness, Anne. You look amazing." she smiled and looked her up and down.

"You too Tia." then they came in. Some girl ran up the steps and had a fattie. I shook that thought out my head and looked around.

"Oh Brandon, this is Mary and Ivan, Jhene and Kyle's parents." No, no, no.

"Oh you're Brandon, huh ?" Ivan stood and we were face to face. The women were on the urge of speaking but Jhene came downstairs.

"Oh. Everybody downstairs." she stared at me and I smiled. She look very uncomfortable. "I'm going back upstairs."

"Stop there, young lady. Is this who you were talking about ?" she looked at me with hurt and fear in her eyes. Oh she better not think I forgotten about her.

"No. There is another Brandon. Bye." she tried to run upstairs to be stopped again.

"No. That's is disrepectful. Jhene, this Anne, Brandon's mother." she nodded and sat down.

Jhene

Oh God no. It's Brandon. Why is he here ? I kept thinking this over and over. This is awkward.

"So you guys ready to eat ?" everybody nodded and agreed. Dad got up and so did Auntie. She pushed him down and walked to the kitchen.

"You okay, Dad ?" he groaned as he got up. He is 44. Yup, he's old. And Mom is 40.

They made a plate and we all sat down. I sat next to Kyle and Brandon. I couldn't change a seats because they were all taken.

"Jhene, would you mind doing the prayers, sweetie ?" my aunt asked.

"But I don't wanna." I whined and everybody looked at me.

"Just do it!" she yelled. Sometimes she is an ass. "Well you asked for it. Bow your heads and close your eyes." I took a deep breath.

"Now I lay me down to sleep--"

"Jhene." and everybody laughed.

"What ?" I acted like I didn't do nothing.

"Start over." I sucked my teeth and went again.

"THE DEVIL THOUGHT HE HAD ME--" my mother kicked my foot under the table and everybody laughed.

Then it was silent for 5 seconds and I said amen. Everybody looked at me.

"What ? Auntie should have never asked in the first place." then everybody began to eat.
