I glanced around the room. As my awareness slowly came back to me, I realized the space wasn’t entirely pitch-black. Moonlight slipped in through a floor-length window, glinting off the ocean over the horizon. An arm was draped over me, and a familiar scent washed over me. I was surprised to recognize it at once: Fenris. We were both fully dressed. His breath was soft against the back of my neck, tickling the little hairs there. I waited and realized he must still be asleep. For some reason, that thought made me smile. I was glad he was finally resting, even if I wasn’t entirely sure how long I’d been asleep myself, or hell, where anyone else was right now. Fenris said Abi could come – did anyone get her?
