“Ah.” I offered her an apologetic smile. “I do enjoy a good fright, that wasn’t my intention.” She rolled her eyes, and I rumbled about the book when Walter walked in behind me.
“Beg your pardon,” he said, tipping his head. “I’ve gotten in touch with the twins as you’ve asked. They’re still in Tallahassee waiting for you.”
