I could sense her pulse quickening again, and I walked across the room, hoping to calm her before she got my wolf all riled again. Perhaps Celeste was not as terrified as she smelled, for once I was merely a stride away, she lunged. I was still too quick for her, but she did manage to nick my arm with the blade before I got out of her range again. I was almost impressed. I didn’t bother looking down.
