I bit my lip before mustering up one more sentence. “You said you were having someone bring my things, right?” “Of course.” When I glanced back over, I realized Fenris had already slipped out of the bed. He’d left so gently I hadn’t even felt the mattress dip. His clothing was already back on, too, when a normal human would have taken much longer. He met my gaze and offered me a smarmy look. “I’ll make sure you have it as soon as possible.” I said nothing else, and he took his leave, barely making a sound as he shut the door behind him.
