26 Six Months later… Sitting at the front of the bus still feels so alien. The sounds of chatter seem different. Even the smell is unfamiliar. Can’t tell if it’s sweat, mould, or just the bus’s unique odour. Sean is next to me, his fingers interlocking mine—and we’re as far from the back seats as possible. I try not to glance at Lisa and Katie as they parade their latest suck-up friend. Stacey Bell. They’re such hypocrites. We spent most of last year making fun of Stacey and her boyfriend.
