28 It’s only been a few days since the curfew was announced and already the country’s gone bonkers. Protests. People rioting with police and the HCA. Thousands of arrests. But for me, staying in after dark is no problem. These days, since my friends abandoned me, there’s no reason to go out wandering the streets. I’m just as happy to stay in with Sean and watch some terrible movie. It’s too cold to be out, anyway. It’s the late-night businesses that are most affected. Cinemas. Restaurants. Pubs. They’re all screwed. Sean and I are sitting on the couch, eating tuna and mayo wraps. I’d much rather be at Sean’s house, spending time with an ordinary family, but I hate leaving Mum alone with Ben. And between work and drinking God-knows-where, I barely see Tony these days—not that he’s needed
