Chapter 12: The Dinner

France POV

I called Jamie a while ago asking if they are done, Damn! I was like a teenager I really can’t get enough of my girlfriend. As I was waiting with her I called Williams to extend Jamie’s vacation and we talk about thing’s I find strange to Mr. Williams concerned about her. If I didn’t questions their relationship the last time we talk I will really get jealous… Instinct saying that there’s so much more about him that so involved with her.. “ Hello Mr. Ribbs! What’s up?” He ask…

“Hey Mr. Williams… I just wanna ask a favor on you…” He said

“What is it?” Williams ask..

“I just want to know if you can extend Jamie’s leave of absence for another week?”

“Mr. Ribbs.. You know how the business works… So why do I need to approve that?” he ask in return.. testing Franz.

“Even if I offer partnership? It’s just another week and no more…”

“Give me your reasons why I need to follow you…” he raised his eyebrows when he said that..

If only he could tell everything then maybe Franz could help him look after Jamie his daughter… Yes its true… Jamie is his daughter but its mot yet time to tell Franz about it. Not right now, not on the phone.

“C’mon Williams, I just want to have more time with her. “Is it ok now?”

“Are you serious with her? As a man I know you so well”.

“ I swear William, this is different. And I’m willing to change just for her…”

“Ok then, just don’t hurt her. She endured since childhood so she deserves better.”

“ Yeah I know, thanks!” he told him and end the call.

Nate, Diane and Jamie arrived at the resort in just a minute and as expected he was waiting at the lobby, by the looks of it he came from his office he looked very dignified in his gray suite. He is like a king sitting on the sofa. He stared so intently as I approach him I smiled. “Hi handsome I told him as I want to tease him. I don’t know what’s gotten to me and I kissed him oh his lips, everyone is looking until I remember where we are. I’m so embarrassed my face turned red when I pulled back. I was so shy of my attitude a while ago. “Where did I get the guts to be bold?” I told myself… So new to me, but still scared to be the center of gossip, especially I’m nobody. But who cares anyway I’m just being me, if I’m happy I’ll show it and even if I’m not. Sometimes people judge you for what they see but didn’t know the real you, what’s inside you or what struggling you. I was back at the present when I saw Franz smile and I was like...

“……” God speechless…

“Damn! This man really gives me a chill.” I said to myself and I shrugged that feelings and focus on the current situations.

“ Hey lovebirds! Can we go up now?” said Nate.. As they turn around with Diane, they both lead the way until we approach the lift… I just can’t take my eyes off the two as we followed the, Franz focused is on me while carrying our bags of things we bought a while ago. Diane and Nate arrived at the VIP floor of the hotel then, I and Franz went to the suite were we checked inn.

God so tiring when we opened the suite I was so tired that I sat on the couch and massage my temples while I closed my eyes.

“ Tired? “ he ask as he seat next to me.

“Yeah a little.”

“Let me…” he said as he touch my forehead to massage it. And it feels good… He’s an expert actually, as he was doing that I ask him. “Have you do this to Kiara?” I ask him… He froze on what I ask him but he answer me honestly, “ Yes but not always. I’m a busy person then, and I’m still starting as CEO so I can say, not always…”

I Look at him straight to his eyes and tell him, “What if I can’t live up to your expectation?”

“ Love…were in this together and we sort whatever things will happen. He assured and he holds my hand..” it make me feel I was so secured with him around and I was so happy…

“ Take a nap before we meet my family, I’ll just go talk to Nate about something…

“ Ok!” I answered back “ Your not going to sleep with me?” I ask as I realize what I said “ I mean if your tired too… You can take a nap…” and I choke a little because of that it sound inviting him for something.

“ J-just go! I said as I was so ashamed! Why cant I get used of being his girlfriend… He was smirking as I throw the pillow on him “Get lost!” I said to him…laughing out loud. As he close the door of the suite timing the pillow hit it.

As Jamie taking a nap I went to VIP floor were Nate was. He just finish taking a bath, I went straight to his balcony and I heard he says.. “Is there something bothering you?” He ask, he really know my style.

“Am just so happy that chasing Jamie has a good result but Nate you know my status and Jamie will be center of the target if somebody knows my relationship with her especially she’s my weakness now im afraid she will be at risk. If I hired a bodyguard for her, will the past be repeated?” he look at his friend with serious eyes…

“ I don’t think so man! As I can see Jamie, she can’t do that you must trust her because she is your girlfriend now… You can’t always do comparison from the past to present because I can tell, Kiara and Jamie is opposite, totally opposite man! “ As he said that I felt so relieved.

“So what do you suggest?”

“Ask her first man! You know your girlfriend as much as I do, she used to live a normal life. A carefree and cheerful person she is. Of course she will refuse that offer and the fact that her peaceful life will be suddenly be bothered by you. And besides she will not be staying here… She has a home at Beacon…”

That bothered him so much, if things would be that simple I would marry her as soon as possible… But I suddenly realize I will drag her in my sad life….

“ I have a lot of enemies and you know it, if I’m not going to find people that assure me her safety, I will be restless..” he told Nate.

“Inform her first.” As he say that “ Is that it?” he ask…

“ Yeah for now… Thanks anyway!”

“ No problem man… So can you leave me now?” He ask while frowning…

“Yeah” I said and as I went out his room.

I Went back to our suite to prepare and I saw her curled up in the couch. This woman is really tired as I watch her a bit before I shake her shoulders to wake her up… How will explain to her about the bodyguard thing… I know she will refuse… She’ s a strong willed woman..

“Love, wake up… I said near her ears but I said it not too loud just right to wake her up.” And as said that she stretch her arms and I find it so cute, as we are together I discover a lot things about her that makes me amazed.

Jamie on the other hand, heard Franz voice waking her up and I slowly adjust my sleepy head to my surroundings and there he goes I saw his face.. He’s handsome face and again I heard his voice “Wake up love, it’s time to get ready for the dinner…” I told her…

And she seemed to be awake to what I told her she stand up to prepare her outfit and as I watched her pulled a red colored casual dress and flats, I paired it with red polo shirt and black khaki shorts and slippers that I usually wore, it’s casual but when he uses it… He can give justice to it…

After he finish changing he went to the living room and wait for Jamie to dress up. As he was appreciating the scenery outside the glass window, he didn’t see that Jamie is going near him…

“Hmmm..” she said, he turn around to see her and there she was… She look so fascinating and beautiful with the dress, her fair skin is more illuminated with the red dress she wore… “ You are I describable Love! You take my breath away.” As his jaw drop…”

“You really have a sweet tongue, do you know that?” I said “ Thank you! You’re the very first man to say that to me!” and I already felt shy…

“You too… your so handsome!” I praise back..

“Ok love, lets go!” And I carry the bag that she bought a while ago. We hop on the lift and immediately operate it to go down, it stops at the VIP floor where Diane and Nate check inn and there they are Diane wore a dress light blue with matches black heels and Nate use a white shirt and a brown khaki shorts with matching sandals for men. He looked like a man with strong personality but handsome actually they both are.

“Hello, you two!” Said Nate and he look at Franz.

“Did you inform then I ask Nate.” He gesture yes…

“Good!” I said, in just a minute we approach the garage.. I rode in Franz car while Diane in Nate’s car and we take off. The road are more accessible this time so we just take an hour for us to arrive in their house but somehow like mansion… A modern style mansion… And I felt so small, this man is incredibly rich… It is more illuminated because of the light’s in every side of their path. Before you can go inside there’s a security check at the entrance of their gate and as they see Franz they immediately opened it and let us pass, even Nate they both superiority, with their appearance alone there employees will bow down.

“ You frightened them!” I told him…

“What?!” he said smiling to me, “ I didn’t do anything!” he said as if he was hurt.. “Love! I didn’t do anything!” he said as if he has been bullied by me.. “ Love, I just didn’t want them looking at you too long.. You mesmerized them!” Such a rude possessive brute! I told myself. And I was like…

“….” Speechless…

Maybe because of what happened in the past that’s why he develop that insecurities… I hold his hand to assure him that past is past…

“ No worries I wont look at them back…” I told him as I smiled back.

Hearing what he said brought me relief, I tsk… And said “ Why am I so lucky to have you? Did I do good in my past life?” I teased her and I hear her laugh…

“ Maybe you’re a hero in your past life, because you bring me back on track… You save me from despair and bring back the light on my life.” I told him. He kiss the back of my hand and it brings electric shock to my nerves.

“ Don’t do that! Your driving.” I told him

“ I’ll just park and were good to go.”

As Mrs. Ribbs heard the car sound she immediately go out and wait the car outside the Mansion. Franz go out first and open the passengers seat as Diane and Nate do the same, then they go near Mrs. Ribbs to greet her and give respect. And even the others do the same, Franz kiss her mom and hug her.

I smiled and said “Hi Mrs. Ribbs!” She said and kiss heron the cheeks, “ I’m Jamie, Franz..” but he interrupted and said “ Mom! My girlfriend…” Jamie was so shy and nervous at the same time, her palm was so wet and Franz knew it because he is holding her other hand.

“ Drop the formalities dear, just call me aunt for now…” She said. And the rest do the same as well,” hi! Aunt…” Said Diane. “ Mom this is Diane, Jamie’s bestfriend… “ he said..

“ Lets go inside!” Mrs. Ribbs said as she lead us to go inside the living room. Freya, Claire and Frianna are already waiting there, as we go near them. Claire approach me first and kiss.

“Hi Aunt! I’m Claire..” she said even Frianna did the same and even Freya, Franz younger sister…

“Hi Jamie! At last we already meet!” When mom called me and tell me you will come and meet us I got curious about you! You are so beautiful… My brother don’t deserve you…” She said teasing her brother.

“Great! You are such a very supportive brother…” he said in a sarcastic tone..

“ Thank you Freya!” I told her as I give them my gifts.

“I didn’t know what you like, so we just prefer some valuable items as a gifts, Hope you like it!” I said..

As we are talking about my life back in Beacon I tell them the truth about my parents death how I survived and about how I became close to Diane and her family.

“Where did you work?” Mrs. Ribbs ask. “No offense but I’m just curious dear…” she told me.

“ I’m currently working at Mr. Williams company as a CSR Customer Service Representative but I graduated at Michigan University with the course of Advertising Management.” Freya got curious why I choose to be a call center agent, and told her that I was in senior high when I decided to find a job to support myself, Mr. Williams saw me on the street near my house and we talk then he offered me a job from his company and the rest is history… Because of that work I graduated and from the on I work in his company as gratitude to what he done to help me finish school.” Not knowing that time Mr. Williams always sneaking just to see Jamie’s welfare even though he can’t tell her the truth because he is scared to face his past he knows he has a lot of mistakes from the past. And Jamie will never forgive him…

Mrs. Ribbs interrupted to tell them the dinner is ready. As a matter of fact the dinner is full of laughter and it goes well as Frianna became the crowds darling, she became the center of the night.. They became friend with Diane as they have the same personality. After the dinner is done we went all to the living room, chatted a little as the two daughters bid goodbye to the elders and went to sleep.

“ Bye Aunt! Its so nice meeting you…” they both said.

“ Thanks for the gift I like it!” Claire and even Frianna.

And they went to their rooms. After a minute even us decided two go back to the resort. We bid our goodbyes to Freya and Mrs. Ribbs.

As we are going back Franz talk to me “ Love, why don’t you come to my company to work I’ll give a position at advertising dept.?” he said but I didn’t agree.

“ I can’t leave that company Franz… Its not about who pays good but I start in that company and besides I love my work.” I told him.

“What about your work in a Pizza Parlor?” Franz ask

“I’ll take a break with it.” I told him

“Your killing yourself with work..” he told me.

“Because I’m so sad when I’m alone at home” I told him…
