The VATICAN

Author POV Lilith strode confidently through the gilded gates of the Vatican, her designer black gown trailing behind her like a shadow. The fabric clung to her figure, the sheen of it catching the light in a way that made her seem to glow with a darkness all her own. A diamond choker adorned her neck, and her lips were painted a deep blood-red, completing the image of a deadly queen. “A woman has to look good when ending the world,” she muttered with a smirk, glancing down at her immaculate appearance. Her stilettos clicked against the marble floor as she crossed into the main hall. “If only I could have gotten Kim Kardashian as a vessel, but oh well.” Her underlings followed close behind. Rakshasa, ever the loyal servant, glared at anyone who dared glance their way. Beside him was Aries, a tall, shadowy figure who wore the face of a man but had the soul of something far darker. They were a team that commanded fear, even here in the sacred halls of the Vatican. At the reception desk, a meek young nun greeted them, her eyes wide with confusion. "Excuse me, miss," she began, her voice shaking slightly, "this area is restricted. You can't just—" Lilith ignored her, sweeping past with the air of someone who had no time for mortal formalities. The nun tried again, this time more forcefully, stepping in front of Lilith. “Please, I must insist—” Rakshasa’s patience snapped. He flicked his wrist, and with a flash of dark energy, the nun was thrown back against the wall. She crumpled, unconscious, as the receptionist behind the desk let out a strangled gasp of terror. Aries leaned forward, grinning wickedly at the terrified receptionist. “We’re here for the Pope,” he whispered, his voice like the hiss of a snake. The receptionist’s hands shook as she scrambled for a phone, but Rakshasa was quicker, seizing the phone and crushing it in his hand. Lilith gave a lazy wave of her hand. “Enough with the theatrics, boys. Let’s go meet His Holiness.” --- The journey to the Pope’s chambers was swift, and the few guards that attempted to intervene were easily dealt with—tossed aside like rag dolls by Rakshasa and Aries. The air grew colder as they ascended the spiral staircases, the sacred energy of the Vatican meeting the raw, demonic power radiating from Lilith. When they finally reached the Pope’s private quarters, Lilith didn't bother knocking. She pushed the grand doors open with ease, stepping inside with all the grace of a queen entering her throne room. Pope Francis sat behind a large wooden desk, his back straight, but his hands slightly trembling. He could feel it—her energy. The overwhelming darkness. His eyes widened as Lilith walked in, her lips curving into a wicked smile. “Hey, Pope Francis,” she drawled, her tone casual as if they were old friends meeting for a chat. “You don’t look too happy to see me.” The Pope’s breath caught in his throat. “Who—who are you?” Lilith rolled her eyes, stepping closer. “Don’t play dumb. You know exactly who I am.” She paused, watching as his face grew pale. “I want access to the sealed archives, your precious vault of history. I’m here to reclaim what’s mine.” The Pope shook his head, his voice firm despite the fear lacing his words. “I cannot allow that. Those records are sacred, sealed by the Church. You will not lay a hand on them.” Lilith’s playful demeanor vanished in an instant. Her eyes darkened, and the temperature in the room plummeted. "Is that so?" she asked, her voice cold as ice. She leaned over the desk, her face inches from his. “Do you really think you can refuse me? Do you understand what you’re dealing with?” Pope Francis looked at her, trembling but holding his ground. "We have faith. We have God on our side. You may be powerful, but you cannot stand against the will of the Almighty." Lilith laughed, a dark, mocking sound that filled the room. “Puny humans,” she sneered. “Always thinking they can face off with an angel, or a demon, or whatever else you think I am. Your God imprisoned me, but He couldn’t kill me. And do you know why?” The Pope’s eyes widened in fear, but he said nothing. “Because I’m too powerful.” Her words were a dangerous whisper, and with a flick of her hand, she sent the Pope sprawling back in his chair. “You sit here, in your golden palace, thinking your little prayers and scriptures will protect you. But they won’t. I was cast out for the very same pride that Lucifer had. But you see… he was a fool. He wanted to be worshipped. I just wanted control.” The Pope tried to reach for the rosary around his neck, his lips moving in silent prayer. But Lilith was faster. She grabbed him by the throat, lifting him off the ground as though he weighed nothing. “You think your God is listening to you right now?” she whispered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “You think He’s going to save you?” The Pope's face turned red, and his legs kicked helplessly as Lilith’s grip tightened. “Wrong,” she hissed. And then, with one swift motion, she sucked the life out of him. His soul left his body in a rush of energy, filling the room with a brief but intense light before disappearing into Lilith’s outstretched hand. She tossed his lifeless body aside like a broken doll. Aries stepped forward, his form shifting, skin stretching and warping as he took on the appearance of Pope Francis. The transformation was seamless. Lilith smiled approvingly. “Now, you look the part. Let’s get to work.” --- The Vault of Secrets With Aries now in the guise of the Pope, they had full access to the sealed archives. The vast vaults of the Vatican were filled with scrolls, ancient tomes, and relics that had been hidden from the world for centuries. Lilith’s eyes gleamed as they sifted through records that had never been seen by mortal eyes—scriptures that spoke of ancient technology, demons that had fled Earth long ago, and even the hidden location of the True Cross, the very one on which Jesus had been crucified. But what truly captivated Lilith was the forgotten records of her own history. She pulled out a scroll, the parchment old and worn, and unrolled it with care. It detailed her reign of chaos before her imprisonment—how she had once destroyed entire civilizations, how she had defied both Heaven and Hell. "Ah, finally," she murmured, her voice filled with satisfaction as she read through the records. "The truth. My truth." Her smile faltered slightly as she reached the part that described her downfall. “Downfall?” she scoffed. “It wasn’t a downfall. It was an *unexpected defeat*." Her eyes narrowed as she continued reading. “Humans always exaggerating everything.” Rakshasa, who had been silently observing, stepped forward. “Is it everything you hoped for, my Lord?” Lilith closed the scroll, a satisfied smile curling at her lips once more. “Oh, it’s more than that, Rak. It’s a reminder of who I am. And now, it’s time to remind the world.” She turned to Aries, her eyes gleaming with dark ambition. “Let the Vatican burn. We’re done here.” With a wave of her hand, the room began to tremble. Flames erupted from the ground, consuming the vault as the ancient secrets went up in smoke. Lilith strode out, her head held high, her laughter echoing through the halls as she left the Vatican in chaos, knowing full well that her return had only just begun. ____End of Chapter Hey yall, after writing this chapter I really wish to visit the Vatican vault, and see all those archived secrets.
