The car finally rumbled over some gravel path, after a long ride through a quite and secluded road. There were barely enough cars on the road, and no police roadblock. The rhythmic sound of the tires against the uneven road filled the tense silence, my plans failed. And my chest still felt heavy from the weight of my earlier tears. I kept my eyes fixed on the window all through the ride, refusing to meet RoughCoin's gaze, even though I could feel it on me. His presence loomed large, a constant reminder of the prison I now found myself in. I could tell we were getting farther away from the city. The flicker of streetlights had been replaced by shadows casted by towering trees, with their skeletal branches clawing at the darkened sky. My heart clenched tighter with each mile that passed.
