Once I got Novalee settled, I decided I would make a quick pit stop by Lilly's room. However, when I arrived, the door was slightly cracked. I could hear all that was being said from inside.
"You can't act like I am your property, then go back to ignoring me. I won't wait forever for you to decide if I am worth your time. I know my worth, and it's more than this s**t. If you had a second chance mate, then maybe so do I. So if you won't accept me, just f*****g reject me already. I can't take this anymore."
My heart clenched in my chest at the words I was hearing. It made me sick to remember the pain I felt when I was rejected.
