TEGAN'S P.O.V
Everyone was talking at once and I couldn't concentrate on the pressing matter.
"What do you mean he is gone?" Lilyanna's powerful voice asked, overshadowing everyone else in the room.
"She means she couldn't save him," Trystan replied instead.
My heart broke a little more at his truthful words. Because he was right, I couldn't.
"How... I don't understand, you have powers. How did you just let him slip from your hands?" Her questions were eating away at me one at a time.
I have already asked myself these questions a dozen times over. How, why, what if, what could I have done differently? But it all led to the same answer, I just couldn't. And now he was not here and there was nothing I could do to change that fact.
