I still was unsure how I felt about this holiday. Everyone looked so happy running around looking for their gifts. I didn't want to be a Debbie downer though. Ezra was right, my son should be as happy as all these adults were. He should always see the good parts, the parts I never saw myself. I'm glad Ezra was here to guide us. Without him, Elias wouldn't ever have known the real meaning of Christmas happiness.
I watched as the adults scurried around, suddenly remembering what a terrible friend I was. I never went and checked on Imagen last night! I quickly scanned the room to only be disappointed when her smiling face wasn't amongst them.
Ezra could sense my discomfort before I even had to say it. But he understood nonetheless.
