Walking around the fire, I grab the young man by the collar of his indie band t-shirt and pull-push my lips down on his so hard I taste blood. He holds very still at first, but when I don’t let go, he leans into it, his kiss matching mine for passion as he plops me down onto his lap, spreading my legs so that I can ride his lap.
“Do you know what you’re doing?” his eyes flash as we separate, both of us out of breath. “Do you know what you’re starting with this?”
“No.. yeah…” I mumble, not sure of what to answer. I could come up with a pretty lie, but instead, I choose to tell the blunt and honest truth. “My boyfriend is an asshole.”
“Oh, I know,” he grins, agreeing with me a little too quickly. “But how do you not know that I’m an asshole too?”
“Even if you are,” I smile back, “At least you're not that asshole.”
Amused by my answer, his grin grows wider, and he suddenly becomes…charming. For a moment, I forget he was the creepy stalker boy from before.
“My name is Zane. Zane Rivers.” he clarifies. “Not Asshole.”
“Pleased to meet you, I’m…”My words are cut off by the sound of glass breaking on a nearby log.
“Hey Dickwad, get your hands off my girl!” Jake calls from the other side of the fire as he marches towards us. ‘
“f**k off, Johnson!” Zane hollers over my head. “You f*****g mutt! If she wanted you she wouldn’t be riding my d**k right now.”
“Felicity,” my now ex-boyfriend reaches out to me as he moves around the fire. “Get away from him. I told you it was all a mistake. Don’t f**k around with me, okay. That’s Zane…”
“I know,” I kiss my new friend on the cheek while giving Jake an indifferent stare.
Jake sputters, shocked that I have a clue of who I’m kissing. “Well, he’s a beast. A monster. He’s….”
“A better kisser than you,” I turn my back on my ex to resume devouring Zane’s mouth.
Jake grabs my shoulder roughly, pulling me back with a yelp. “Felicity, stop this. I know I hurt your feelings, but that was all a misunderstanding. If you do this, I can’t forgive you. If you kiss this guy one more time…”
“You know what, Jake,” I smile as I look over my shoulder. "I’m going to do a whole lot more than kiss him. You wanna watch?”
Jake’s eyes go from shocked to confused, landing finally in anger when he squeezes my arm. “Be reasonable, I know you, Felicity, you’re not a w***e, you’d never…”
I don’t listen to the rest of what he has to say. Instead, I turn away, giving the sexy stranger all of my attention. Kissing him again with as much passion as before, I wrap my arms around his neck. He holds me up by my ass as he stands, my legs wrapping around his waist like a belt.
“Be careful, kitten,” he kisses my ear. “If you take it any further, there’s no taking it back.”
Jake’s eyes are still burning holes in my back when I say loud enough for both men to hear. “Let’s get the hell out of here, lover. I’m all yours tonight.”
We climbed into his car and made the very short drive to a small shack on the far side of town. Like most of the homes here, it overlooks the beach with spectacular views of the moon over the water. But I don’t have time to admire it. As soon as we park, he pulls me inside and presses me into the shut door.
I jump, startled at the sound as he locks the door behind me with a snap.“I did warn you,” his predatory grin has returned as he towers over me, his green eyes watching my face intently, “What would happen if you didn’t turn back?”
Swallowing hard as his body presses me into the door, I lick my lips boldly, pretending to be less terrified than I am as I declare that I know exactly what I’m doing.
“I want to pretend this night never f*****g happened,” I gaze back at him just as intensely, his salty scent blended with something earthier, sandalwood and sage soap. “Are you man enough to make me forget?”
Zane slams into me, grabbing my wrists and holding them above my head. “You think you can handle me, kitten,” he nibbles his way down my neck, his teeth scraping my skin right where the shoulder and neck connect. “Goddess, why do you smell so f*****g amazing?”
He clamps down harder, and I open my legs as he hoists me up onto his hips again, grinding into me, making me groan as he sucks my neck, and our bodies ride one another, his d**k separated from my p***y by only a few layers of fabric. Feeling him hard and ready, the seam of his jeans digging into my tiny jeans shorts sends a tingle of sensation throughout my body.
I am more than ready when he flips me onto his bed, my chest heaving as my breath quickens with nerves and anticipation.
“Just f**k me already,” I groan as I try to wiggle out of my pants. I feel hot everywhere my skin is covered. Suddenly, all the fabric touching my skin is too much pressure. I need to be free. I need to let go, I need…
With a yank, he frees me of both my shorts and thong, and they hit the floor behind him as he flings them across the room.
“Do you have any idea how beautiful you are?”
I know it’s just sweet talk, but the sincerity in how he says it feels like a bolt to the heart.
The moonlight hits his eyes and for a second they seem to glow like they did before at the bonfire as he places himself between my legs and I open to him as with a single stroke, he fills me completely.
Moving together in a perfect dance of thumping bodies, my nails dig into his back as his teeth pierce the sensitive skin at the curve of my neck.
As he holds me in place with his teeth and his c**k, my vision bursts with light as my body screams with pleasure. It feels incredible. Better than anything.
Exhausted, soon after he releases me, I fall asleep in a tangle of sheets.
And somewhere, in the back of my head, I hear a deep growl and a voice saying, “Mine.”
I turn around, a simple dress of white cotton twirling around me as I feel the cool earth between my toes. I’m standing in a forest, the sound of waves crashing behind me.
“There you are,” that voice says again, sweeter this time, lighter. “I finally found you.”
The sensation of being watched prickles the hair on the back of my neck, but as I tilt my head first to the left, then to the right, there is no sign of anyone other than me in the forest.
“You are mine,” the voice says again. “Mine…”
Stepping forward, I follow the sound of the voice, but there is no one there, no one watching me, although neither the voice nor the feeling of being watched dissipates.
Another growl ripples through me, and my body shakes with uncertain fear. Where is that sound coming from if I am alone in these woods?
The voices are replaced with the racing thump of footfalls, and the sound of animals charging.
From the corner of my eye, a beautiful wolf the color of warm honey races towards me, her eyes glowing bright blue, shining like sapphires, as she opens her mouth and…
…I wake up
I almost expect to feel the wet soil of the forest beneath my hands when I open my eyes, but it must have all be a terrible nightmare. What is it about this place, this island, which is making me see things that aren’t there. Last night, it was the glowing eyes across the bonfire, and now I’m dreaming of being chased by wolves in a forest.
The room smells like s*x and old pot. Blinking, I move my scraggly hair out of my eyes. My clothes, if you could call them that, are lost. Until I look up.
Lovely. A hot pink triangle laughs down at me from his hanging lamp.
Forget it. He can have it as a souvenir.
The mysterious stranger, no, Zane, is nowhere to be seen. I would have thought I had just imagined him if it weren’t for his discarded, slightly torn t-shirt on the floor next to my torn shorts.
The glass doors leading to the beach are slightly ajar, the chill wind prickling my skin as I reach down and pull on his vintage rock bad shirt, now torn with what looks like…claw marks? Maybe he has a dog. There seems to be a lot of gray fur on the carpet as well.
Stealing a pair of flip-flops I find by the door, I head back up the beach to where our rental is. I’m not exactly sure where I am, but this island is small. There’s no way I can get lost. The remnants of the bonfire are still on the beach, along with something I recognize.
My diary?
What is that doing here?
Picking it up, I see it’s mostly undamaged, just a bit waterlogged as if it had been sitting out here overnight. Weird. A few feet further down the beach I find several pairs of my underwear. Then a dress. One of my text books.
“What the actual f**k?” I swear, picking up items as I follow the wind blown trail back to the house.
On the porch of our rental is a large cardboard box. In the box is what should be in my luggage, but even that is missing.
And scrawled on the front of the box in bright red letters is the word w***e.
Well f**k you too, Jake.
All I need is the boat ticket home. Once I’m on that cruise and back to the mainland, I’m dumping his ass officially. He can get the hell out of my apartment too. No more late-night study sessions where I do his homework and pretend to be grateful that he’s my boyfriend.
I am so, f*****g done.
