Chapter 11

I'm going to open that chest, today" I replied in her ear, emphasising each other. Malina looked shocked enough that she would faint any second but I knew this had to be done. That chest needed to be opened. It all started because of that damn chest and now it will end because of it too. "What? What are you talking about Aurora? After everything I've said, this is the only thing you could conclude? Instead of forgetting about the elder chest and focusing on being a better leader, you want to open it? We don't know what's in there? But we do know that it's not good for you. Because no matter how much you dislike Oglo, her predictions of the future are almost correct!" Hearing Malina talk about Oglo and her prediction for my future took me back 13 years, where I first found out about the elder chest and what it may hold for me. I was dressed in one of the most beautiful gowns this wizardry world has ever seen. I looked like a proper bride, the centre of attention, in my blood red gown that had a tail long enough to cover an average size room. The whole of the gown was filled with diamonds and stones and all the work on it was done with pure gold. My soon to be fiance made sure that the dress I wear to our engagement is the best anyone has ever seen. Standing in front of the mirror in my room, I looked at my hair that was neatly styled into waves, my smokey eyed makeup, cherry red lips and the beautiful gown. One thing was missing though. I walked towards my wardrobe with as much caution as I could, I didn't want to step on any part of my gown and trip. Opening the closet, I reached into one of the drawers and pulled out the ruby necklace that my mother gave me when I was a child. It was a large tear shaped stone suspended within a platinum chain. Before I could attempt to put it on myself, someone gently grabbed it from my hands and started putting it on, pushing my hair towards the side. His touch immediately made me feel alive, the rough texture of his fingers and him breathing around my neck, there was no doubt that the person standing behind me was my soon to be fiance. After clamping the necklace shut, he twirled me around and I giggled. This was one of the best and the most memorable days of my life and I wanted to live it to the fullest. "What are you doing here? It's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before their ceremony" I tried to sound annoyed but the grin from my face was going nowhere. "Oh please! We are getting engaged today Aurora, not married. Although I wish we could just skip to the marriage part and the parts that come after it" the stupid guy grinned and wiggled his eyebrows at me after his suggestive comments and I just pushed him back playfully. "Stop it! Now get the hell out, I need to do some touch ups before I can come outside. Wait for me in the grand hall!" I pushed him outside the room while he struggled, but eventually gave up and yelled at the top of his lungs just as I was about to shut the door. "Don't take too long Aurora! I love you!" He shouted and my smile increased a thousand fold as I replied back. "I love you too Edward!" I was brought out of my past memories when Malina shook me aggressively. All these memories, they are coming back and with these beautiful memories, will come the bad ones too and I was not thrilled to remember them
