Chapter 13

I was standing in front of the chest that was covered in gold and jewels, in this cold dark room, the beauty of the chest remained hidden but I could see behind the beauty of this box, the destiny. My destiny. The coldness of this room suddenly reminded me of the coldness I felt on that fateful night that made me turn into what I am today.

Me and Edward were mingling with all the guests that were present at our engagement party. I couldn't stop the smile that was permanently stitched on my face and so was the case with Edward. We looked so much in love, so much in sync and I couldn't be more than happier.

After dating for almost two decades now, Edward decided that it was time to pop the question. And in the safety of our room, in the comfort of our bed and his arms, he presented me with his family heirloom and asked me to marry him. This was the party arranged to celebrate my affirmative response to him.

Since I was a prominent member of the council and Edward had a lot of connections in the wizardry world, the hall was packed with guests. Some of them are from other species too. Leader Malvick gave this party to us in the hall of the castle and even though I didn't want to, I had to give credit to the man for arranging such a feast.

"How do the young lovebirds find this party? Is it upto mark of being the engagement feast of the nephew of the leader of this coven?" Leader Malvick laughed enthusiastically as he approached us.

"Ofcourse Uncle, thank you so much again for this wonderful gift. Me and Aurora couldn't be more grateful for this act of kindness. We would surely repay you by working hard and easing your work as the wonderful leader of this coven" Edward finished his speech with his award winning smile while I stood quietly and gave a tight lipped smile to the man in front of us, who was soon to be my uncle in law. Oglo and Malvick were siblings, although they looked completely opposite from each other. Malvick was small and round while Oglo was tall and muscular. They shared a feature though, their big nose. I was grateful that Edward didn't have that nose. He mainly took after his father.

After hours of meeting with people and eating delicious food, me and Edward were ready to retire to bed and call it a day.

"Babe, I'm tired, let's get to bed now" I nudged him a hundred times and whined like a kid.

"We can't Aurora, we are the hosts, we have to be here till the end. I'm tired too baby, and I'm sorry" He looked apologetically at me but I knew what he was saying was right too.

"Also, mother has still not arrived. I'm surprised that she still hasn't arrived for her dear daughters-in-law's engagement party" Edward wiggled his eyebrows playfully at me while I gave him my cheeky smile. Oglo loved me as a daughter and I also reciprocate the feelings. He was jealous most of the time because she would always look after me more than her son. We always made fun that she loved me more than him. I was also surprised that she hasn't arrived yet. I was praying that she arrives quickly though.

My prayers were soon answered when I saw Oglo enter the hall but she looked ready to kill. Ready to kill me.
