The Showdown Did you truly believe that I wouldn't discover? My phone flashed Victor's message once more, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. Alexander saw it from me, hands trembling. "What is his meaning?" Alexander raised a question, scowling. "What plans does he have?" "I'm not sure," I said, sensing the gravity of the circumstance. "However, he won't give up on this." Alexander steadily answered, "So we need to move quickly. "We must not allow him to dictate the story." " Yes. What is the strategy?” With a beating heart, I asked. With a determined look in his eyes, he stated, "We meet Sarah tomorrow and get the evidence we need." "Afterward, we face Victor." "Going up against him? Are you certain that's a wise decision? I questioned, experiencing a panic attack. With a fixed jaw, he answered, "It's the only way." "We have to confront him." "All right, let's exercise caution," I cautioned. "Victor poses a risk." "I understand," Alexander moved in closer. "But right now, we can't give up." "That's correct," I replied, inhaling deeply. "Let's carry out this." I got to the café where we were meeting Sarah the following day. Nerves swirled in my stomach. Alexander was already sitting at a corner table when I noticed him, looking serious. I got into the seat across from him and said, "Hey." "Any updates?" "Waiting on Sarah," he answered, casting a sidelong glance at the door. "Do you believe she will attend?" I questioned, nervous. "She will," he gave me his word. "She is aware of how crucial this is." At that moment, the door opened, allowing Sarah to enter. She was a small woman with confident features and a confident demeanor. "I apologize for being late," she remarked and sat down. "There was terrible traffic." Alexander leaned closer and added, "No worries." "We appreciate you meeting us." Naturally. What is required of you? With her gaze flitting between us, Sarah questioned. "Victor's files must be accessed," Alexander muttered. "We believe he is associated with some dubious activities." " Dubious enterprise? Similar to what?" With an eyebrow raised, Sarah enquired. "Such as deception and manipulation," I said. "He has been harming people with his position." Sarah responded, her expression growing serious "Sounds serious." "I need to exercise caution, but I can assist. Victor is always watching. Alexander responded, "We get it. "All we have to do is track down something that will reveal him." Sarah nodded and replied, "Alright." "You must come in tonight, but I can get you in. We have no time to waste. "This evening? That's quick," I remarked, experiencing a mixture of terror and excitement. "Time is critical," Sarah retorted. "We must take action before he knows we're watching him." With a determined tone, Alexander responded, "Okay, we'll do it." "What is the strategy?" We got together outside Victor's office building later that evening. There was tension in the air and the lights were dark. "Are you prepared to do this?" With a serious gaze, Alexander questioned. "I suppose so," I answered, my heart racing. "However, I can't get rid of the feeling that something negative will occur." He squeezed my hand and murmured, "Just stick to the plan." "Everything will be alright." "That's correct," I replied, inhaling deeply. "Let's carry out this." >> I had an adrenaline rush as soon as we stepped into the building. We avoided going through the main entrance and headed for the stairway. “The files should be on the third floor Sarah mentioned” Alexander muttered as he looked about. I remarked, sensing the seriousness of the situation, "Let's hurry." Our footsteps resounded in the quiet as we ascended the staircase. Upon arriving to the third floor, we discovered a vacant hallway. "Is the office somewhere?" I looked around before I asked. Alexander led the way and said, "Down this way." We were getting close to the office entrance when I started to feel queasy. What happens if Victor is within? Alexander reassured me, "He won't be." "He has too many plans of his own." With my heart pounding, I answered, "Let's hope you're right." To our amazement, when Alexander tried the door handle, it was unlocked. He carefully pushed open the door, and we entered. There was only a little lamp shining dimly in the gloomy office. I looked around and said, "Looks empty." "Let us locate those files." "Verify the desk," Alexander gestured toward the filing cabinet. I pulled open the desk's drawers and flipped through documents. "There's nothing here," I exclaimed, exasperated. "Where could he store the essentials?" Alexander said, gesturing to a huge wooden cabinet leaning against the wall, "Try the cabinet." I approached and unclaimed the cabinet doors. There were piles of folders within. "This has to be it!" I cried out and produced a folder marked "Confidential." Alexander said, his eyes brightening, "Good job." "Let's take a look inside." I scanned the documents after opening the folder. As I read the specifics, my heart fell. "It's worse than I anticipated. He has been embezzling money and using fictitious contracts to hide it. "Is this something we can use?" Alexander leaned in to ask. Indeed! This might reveal him! I spoke with a surge of optimism. At that moment, I heard footsteps getting closer. "There is a visitor approaching!" I desperately whispered. "Hide quickly!" Pulling me behind the desk, Alexander said. The footsteps grew louder and we knelt, our hearts racing. I held my breath, hoping that no one would find out. With a smug look, Victor stepped inside as the door swung open. With a sarcastic tone, he remarked, "I knew you'd come snooping around, Mia." "Victor!" With a gulp, my heart pounded. "Thought you were able to outwit me?" He looked around the office, taunting. "You're not doing this right." "Leave this place!" With a deep and furious voice, Alexander snarled. Or what? Will you keep her safe? With malicious glitter in his eyes, Victor laughed. "Brother, it's too late." “Victory, let her go!” With a cry, Alexander came out from behind the desk. "Why will I do that?” With a crossed arm, Victor answered. "It's her who has been investigating my business." "I don't fear you at all!" With a flash of defiance, I yelled. " Not frightened?” Victor stepped forward and stated, "You should be." "You're not aware of my abilities." "Enough!" Alexander stepped in between us and roared. "You won't damage her," "Is that a danger?" Victor's face darkened as he s neered. "You believe you can prevent me?" Alexander steadily stated, "I will stop you." "This will not get away with you.”
