We ate lunch and before I knew it, I was alone in my house. I dragged my board outside and made a push to finish it so I could test it out before I jumped into Ginny’s board. When I got to a stopping point, I ran to the hardware store to get supplies for a second board. I stashed it all in my spare room and waited. I knew Ada would be back. I just didn’t know when. I took a late afternoon swim and left the water throbbing hard in anticipation. Darkness was falling quickly, and that meant she wasn’t far away.
