Kiki called me the next week to talk about schedules and asked me to meet her at Opposites Attract. Knowing I wasn’t likely to run into Ada, I headed over hoping I could talk Kiki into lunch. I never thought I’d be lonely when Sawyer moved out. Kiki was in her office, head bowed over her desk, when I walked in. She looked so much like our mom that it shocked me at times. It came out of nowhere and punched me hard in the gut. Kiki had a yellow flower tucked behind her ear, and her long hair in a thick braid over her shoulder.
