CHAPTER 5: THE TASK

''adaere, wake up you need to prepare for your orientation later at 9:00. Don't be late'' - i heard Ruia's voice outside.

I don't know what orientation she's talking about but I got off to bed anyways.

I took a quick shower then changed into a black pants and a white sweatshirt i found in the wardrobe. This isn't mine but i have nothing to wear and they won't put me here if i wasn't allowed to use any of this clothes right. I tied my short hair in a ponytail then headed outside. I have no idea where to go Ruia didn't said any location or place were the orientation will be held. I turned around in the hallways but I didn't see anyone.

When suddenly a swift motion hits in front of me causing my little hair strands to move a little and I saw Ydhira suddenly pop-outs from nowhere. I almost fainted in shock, someone who will just appear unexpectedly in your face is nerve-wracking. I haven't moved yet as I continues to stare at her wide-eyed

''teleportation'' -she said with a proud smirk

Whoa cool! I also noticed that she is wearing a uniform. A white long-sleeves polo with a collar and a striped black and red ribbon in the middle.

She wore a black mini skirt which if I am not mistaken, just a couple of inches above her knee and a knee-high lack socks paired with a black shoes. There's a small stitched sign with letters 'UC' embroidered near the collar with small details around it that I cannot see clearly.

She grabbed my wrist and in a blink of an eye, i was drifted by a strong force and i almost stumbled when we land at a wide classroom with thick transparent windows.

After few minutes, entered a lady which according to my guess she's in her mid 30s.

She eyes us one-by-one and she frowned a little when her eyes landed at me. After few seconds she made her way in front of the class.

''ok I assume all of you have no idea what you are doing here'' -she started

''all of you are holding powers and abilities that you might not know or you are aware that you possess certain powers but you have no idea why you have those. So you are here in order to enhance those and give you answers'' -she continued

There are more than 20 persons inside the room and almost all of them are likely in my age.

The professor discussed the three classifications and what are the abilities under each.

''Long time ago, there was a place named The Kingdom of Wondo, there lived people with superpowers peacefully . When the evil brother of king Ophidian declared a battle, he wiped out majority of the people of the kingdom and that results to the death of the king and queen and him dethroning the Kingdom. It is believed that after the queen died, she gave birth to a baby that is stated in the prophecy to be our savior and will take back our kingdom when the right time comes. Some of the wondonians who survived the battle hides themselves at the human world and some of them are leaded by the Elite families to rebuilt an organization which we can multiply and train our powers whilst in search for the daughter of the king and queen. There are 3 classifications, first is the Weaponry, second is the Elementals and third is the Upper Class. The first one is the most basic ability but their skills aren't a joke. They have mastered all of the weapons including archery, handling guns, takana, spears and many more. They also have unbelievable strengths and speed at combat. The second is the elementals, they possess the abilities like air manipulations, fire, water and so on. And lastly the Upper Class, people who can control elements and also has psychic abilities like mind control, telekinesis and many more. They are the rarest and most powerful students here for they are mostly the sons and daughters of the Elite Families. Their elemental abilities are stronger than those other normal elemental users.'' - she said as she walks back and forth in front of the class

Interesting. I hate superiority but according to her explanations, it seems cool though, the powers, the abilities and all.

''tomorrow will be the start of your training classifications so prepare yourselves, that is all'' -she said then headed out.

*fast forward*

Today is the start of our classification day. The teacher called us alphabetically. The 'D' surname was called and i assume i will be called soon since mine's a 'C'.

Each of us was called and will go to the two guys standing in front of the class. They are the one who'll tell us which classification we belong.

I just repeated what I saw my classmates did. I placed my right hand on the first orb which is held by the man who will identify if I will be a weaponist and my left hand on the other guy which is the elemental. Either of the orb will light up on which classification I belong. Mostly I saw weaponist are being activated by my classmates and only few of them activated the elemental orb.

I felt a tingling sensation arose inside of me as I touched the orbs. A weird feeling of electricity crawls into my skin and I saw both of the orbs lights up instantly.

I heard loud gasps and murmurs behind my back. I turned my head to them and I saw them whispering to one another and I saw my teacher was shocked , her eyes widens staring at me. Even the old men who holds the orbs stared at each other in disbelief. Even me wasn't expecting this to happen. I activated both of the orbs so it means that I am a weaponist as well as an elemental.

I heads back to my seat with stares following me as the teacher composed herself to continue the classification.

Headmaster requested me to his office after my class.

*fast forward*

We just headed out at Headmaster's office after he declared that I am now officially member of The Upper Class for possessing being a weaponist and an elemental. I will now be staying at a high maintenance dormitory along with the other Ucs and I can't believe it. I just got here and then i am now a member of the highest class in the school, how did that happened i wasn't even over with the thought that i possesses any abilities and now i have two of it.

''here's your uniform and card. We only need to wear our uniforms on Mondays and Wednesdays because on other days, we'll be having tasks that requires proper outfits for certain occasions. This card is a special card that we the Ucs are the only ones who are allowed to use, you can use it for buying foods, clothes and many more inside the WSE of course you can't use that in the human world, they have no idea what that is and their technology is far from what we have here so they won't recognize that'' -ruia said

I just nodded in agreement. She handed me the uniform placed in a thin transparent bag. It looked like what Ydhira wore when I saw her yesterday.

*the next day*

Today is Friday and I was about to take a bath when suddenly the thing beside my bed that looks like a telephone but with very modern design that I can't barely identify it but I saw the two curved circles in it lights up then a hologram infront of me appeared.

I saw Headmaster Em and the UC dressed with leather clothes just like what they wore when I first saw them appeared in front of me. I was shocked at first gave then a 'what do you need look'.

''Prepare yourself because you will have your first task with the UC today'' - he said and eyed Ydhira then in a blink of an eye, she is already beside me with her usual proud smirk. The hologram disappeared the I quickly took a shower and wore the clothes that Ydhira brought with her just now.

I had a quick glance at the mirror. I looked like a badass chick ready to fight a group of gangsters, i miss this get up. I remembered my doings when I was still in the human world. I missed street-fighting and most af all, the shinramyun.

''you done?'' -ydhira asked while sitting on the couch checking her nails.

''yeah, where are we going?'' -I asked while walking towards her

''a task'' - she responded shortly

''i mean where exactly?''

''you'll see" -she said then holds my wrist then teleported

We are now here at somewhat a forest. I guess we are at the human world and I am sure this is very far from any town and looks barely any human had been here judging to the tall grasses and big trees, the tall grass that almost reached on my waist. We were all just observing the surroundings as we looked for anything or anyone that might be the source of the power that activated the orb. Headmaster told us that there must be someone out here who possesses a power so we are here to find that person.

I still couldn't believe my first interaction with the UC back at the human world. I was bragging that I can fight the street punks all by myself but it turns out that they have powers and can kill those jerks in just a blink of an eye even without touching them. Lesson learned, do not judge the book by its cover.

We turned around in sync as we noticed something rustling in the bushes and a shadow moved at a speed and hides at a big tree. We all looked into each other then Ruia gave a sign for us to come closer slowly towards the big tree.

''come out now for we are friends and not a threat'' -she said while staring at the tree where the person hides

The ground under us suddenly moved and there are spiky vines started to show up then grips our feet and now we can't walk or move our foot because of the tight vines holding us.

''get out of here now, I will not come with you'' - I heard a female voice came from behind the tree

''she's an elemental'' - ydhira said looking at the vines slowly crawling up to her waist.

''and she is good with her powers'' - yveth added

''it'd be hard convincing her'' -jay said

''psh, we won't force her if she doesn't want to come with us.'' - seven

I heard them commented. Seven's harsh words made us stare at him looking -_-

She really is indeed important, Headmaster wouldn't risk us to go at this kind of place if she wasn't important.

'she has a point'

'exactly!'

'don't mind him ada, he's been like that'

Their voices in my head was interrupted when the vines became stronger and I feel like my foot would break any time now

''guys! Do something!'' -I heard yveth said while she tries to escape from the vines

''let us go! We won't harm you just come with us'' -ruia said

''Aaaaaaaaahh!!'' - I screamed when a spike of the vines hits and slices the skin on my foot and now its bleeding.

They all looked at me

''AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH'' - we heard a loud tingling scream came from the girl behind the tree

We have no idea what happened to her back there because we can't see her. The hold of the vines loses until it made it's way back under the ground. We stared at each other wondering what happened. After few seconds, we saw a girl came out behind the tree. She's wearing an old fashioned simple white dress with laces surrounding it's every end. But we also noticed that she is very wet, water dripping all over her hair and dress.

''who did that?'' - she asked looking at us intently

They all drifted their stares at Ruia. She's looking fazed and confusion visible in her eyes.

''what!? I didn't do anything!''

''don't fool us, you're the only water sign here'' -seven said

''I swear, I didn't know where that water came from'' - she said as she tried to convince us

''you b!tch!'' - the girl said and gives Ruia a death glare abd heads to Ruia

Before she can grab Ruia, Seven and Jay stopped her.

''stop the fuss for now, we need to go back because it's getting dark and before someone can see us here. We'll settle this at home. You, you need to come with us '' -Jay said in a serious tone

''whatever'' - the girl said and rolled her eyes but she then came with us when she knew we won't stop bugging her if she won't come with us

''YA'LL ARE AWARE THAT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE YOUR POWERS OUTSIDE WSE RIGHT? CAN'T YOU FOLLOW A SIMPLE INSTRUCTION? YA'LL RISKING THE SAFETY OF THIS WHOLE PLACE WITHOUT THINKING FIRST ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE THINGS YOU DO!'' -headmaster said in front of us, he is mad but not to the point that he is screaming at our faces. I only can see the sincerity on his eyes, surely they protect this place with all their might.

''I didn't use my powers'' - Ruia said plainly tired of proving herself

''and you still have the audacity to deny? Who else here can control water? Only you Ruia'' - headmaster said for the nth time.

I feel sorry for ruia, I know she's telling the truth but I can't do anything about it since I am just a newcomer and I don't want to get involved in their fight.

They are just looking at the floor listening to them. Now I understand that they cannot fight

back there at the human world, it is because the Headmaster is very strict on using powers outside WSE.

I just stared at my bleeding foot. there's still blood all over in it but i didn't pay much attention to it when we got back here. I don't want to bother the others either specially when there's a tension on them riht now.

''it's Adaere'' - jay said pointing at me that startled all of us
