Chapter 34: The Loser
Both Lucas and Maria hurriedly made their way to the hospital. They found Walter waiting with a tense expression in front of the emergency room, his white shirt stained with blood.
"What the hell happened? Why did my sister get hit by a car?" Lucas rushed in to ask, shocked.
"I took Merline out to eat as you suggested. On the way back, we had a bit of an argument, and she hastily opened the door and got out of the car without being careful, and a motorcycle hit her."
"An argument? About what?"
"It's a long story, I'll tell you later. And who's this? Looks familiar." Walter turned to look at Maria, surprised, as he had never seen Lucas with any woman before, except for the beautiful girl he liked.
