Chapter 38: Sympathetic Pregnancy
Lucas drove up and parked in front of Maria's house, then glanced around. Maria's house was a two-story white house in a quiet and well-secured housing estate. The house wasn't too small, it seemed like a cozy family home for three, but... living alone in a house this size would be lonely.
"Are you sure you're not lonely living here by yourself?" Lucas asked as Maria opened the gate for him to enter. The sound of the seashell wind chime hanging at the front caught his attention, and as he looked around, he noticed she seemed to like plants, given the abundance of flowers.
"Not really, I've gotten used to it," she replied with a smile. To be honest, she admitted she used to feel a bit lonely, but it was a loneliness she had grown accustomed to.
