“Is this black car with the license plate 888 yours, ma'am?”
A male employee approached the two women with a worried expression, causing Annie and Maria to look at each other in confusion.
“Y-Yeah, it is. Why do you ask?”
“Someone accidentally backed into your car, ma'am.”
“What? How could it possibly get hit when it's parked so well? Oh... um... okay, I'll go take a look. We were just about to leave anyway.” Annie was startled, quickly grabbed her bag and nearly dropped it in her rush, and then suddenly remembered that she hadn't paid for her meal yet.
“You go check on your car first. I'll handle the bill here. I was planning to use the restroom before we leave. I'll catch up with you afterward,” Maria nodded reassuringly, urging her friend to go while she stay
