(Luke POV) I'm hunched over my desk, scribbling on one of Xavier's damn daily logs, when his voice cuts through the office, sharp, barking down the hall. "Kane!" he snaps, but it's not me he's after this time. I glance up, catching Andrew's silhouette in his office doorway, arms crossed, glaring back. Xavier strides over, a folder in hand, his suit still too perfect for late afternoon. I lean back, pen hovering, watching it unfold. Xavier stops short of Andrew, thrusting the folder forward. "Review this, new client strategy. I need your input by tomorrow." Andrew doesn't budge, just stares, eyes narrow. "Not my job," he says, voice low, rough. "You're the CEO now."
