Matilda stands confidently in her carefully curated outfit, chosen by her friend for the dinner party with her Billionaire fiance. She wears a stunning, floor-length evening gown in a rich, jewel-toned sapphire blue that perfectly complements her porcelain skin and sparkling eyes.
She looked lovely at her phone, anticipating her fiance’s call with great expectation.
Her hands are adorned with elegant rings, including the dazzling diamond engagement ring he gave her, creating a sense of calmness as she sits in comfortable silence. The soft glow of the evening lamp casts a warm atmosphere, illuminating her tranquil expression.
On the other hand, her friend, Maya was standing close to her, admiring her impeccable taste, feeling of thrill and impression by the outfit she had chosen for Matilda.
“Oh wow….. I’m such an excellent fashionista.” Maya said as she moved closer to Matilda, trying to pick something from her dark, loosely styled hair.
“This looks so perfect on you…. Everyone that sees you tonight will fall over heels for you.”
“You look hot, girl” She added, gesturing with her fingers.
“Thanks, Maya, I owe you one,” Matilda said forcing a grin from her maked-up face.
“What happened to the Mat, that was all around with the news of going on a dinner party with her Fiance a while ago?” Maya emphasizes the FIANCE with her fore and index fingers.
“Babe…. What is wrong, you don’t like the outfit?” She said as she sat on the edge of the wide bed beside Matilda.
“We can get something more comfortable if this isn’t” Giving a warm pat on her shoulder.
“It has nothing to do with the outfit, babe. This looks so good on me, and I love it.” Matilda expressed gazing at her friend
“It's William, I'm afraid he will call up our outing again tonight just as he always did” She gave a serious expression
“He cancels our dates at every opportunity he gets; I don't get why he never takes this relationship as a priority; it seems as if I am the only one trying to make all this work; he is not contributing anything at all to us. He always thinks he can sort out all things with his money.”
“It’s so frustrating!!” she exclaimed.
“This is it…..This is exactly what have been talking about.” Maya said as she gave her a warm hug.
“William doesn’t see any reason he has to be committed to any relationship, not when he can control everything with his wealth.” She declared.
“I am so sure he doesn’t respect you or this relationship, not even a bit. Because if he does he wouldn’t be canceling every opportunity available for you two to know yourself better.” She added.
“But for tonight, you have nothing to worry about because……” Maya said as she opened the window close to the bed they were sitting to show Matilda the Rolls-Royce phantom parked outside the building. Luckily for Mat, it is Billionaire Adams’s.
“Tonight must be a special one right?.... Of course, it is, not after spending many hours to curate a dazzling outfit and make you this gorgeous. Williams wouldn’t dare to disappoint this time” Maya said as they both burst into laughter.
They stopped as they heard someone knocking at the sitting room door.
“I’ll get that,” Maya said as she went straight out of the bed, and ran down the staircase to the sitting room.
“l'm coming….” she declared with a high-pitched voice as she opened the sitting room door to find the Billionaire bodyguard.
“Is Lady Matilda in?” Henry said in a sharp but calm tone.
“Yes, she is.” She said as Matilda walked down the stairs in her elegant and stunning floor-length blue gown.
“Good evening, ma’am,” Henry uttered, his eyes widened slightly, and his eyebrows rose as he saw Matilda coming towards him.
For a brief moment, a hint of a smile on his lips, before he regained his composure, returning to his actual poker-faced. His gaze paused, ever so briefly, a fleeting moment of admiration, taking in the elegance of her sapphire blue gown and the sparkle of her jewelry.
Then his expression reclaimed its usual neutral mask, a hallmark of his professionalism and experience. He remained focused on his duty, ever vigilant and alert to potential threats, while also acknowledging His boss’s fiancee’s captivating presence.
“Good evening, Henry ” she uttered as she let out a grin.
“Where is William?” she asked.
“The boss has instructed me to ensure your safe and comfortable arrival at the dinner party. Shall we depart?” Henry said as he gestured his hand toward the sitting room door.
“Wait a minute, do you mean Williams is not here with you?” Matilda asked in surprise
“Yes, ma’am. The boss was held up in a critical meeting.” He maintains a courteous tone.
“All right…. Let’s go then” she replied.
“See you later, Maya” she uttered, as she turned to her friend before taking the route as directed by the bodyguard.
“Bye girl, have fun!!” Maya exclaimed as she headed to the staircase leading to the room
As they got to where the car was packed, the bodyguard opened the back door of the Rolls-Royce for Matilda to sit in, then went to the driver seat and ignited the engine of the car.
As he drove, the soft hum of the engine and the quiet whoosh of the air conditioning filled the cabin. The billionaire’s fiancee sat quietly in the backseat, her thoughts lost in the evening ahead.
The Rolls-Royce made short work of the distance; its refined power and Henry’s skilled driving ensured a velvety ride. They arrived at the venue, a grand estate endowed with golden light. Just in time, Henry stealthily exited the car, opening the door for Matilda. Escorting her to the room, where the evening’s festivities awaited.
As Matilda entered the room where the party was held, her eyes scanned the space, revealing every detail of the grandiose setting. It was lavishly decorated with fine china, crystal glasses, and impeccable table settings. She looked around admiring the atmosphere and, at the same time, trying to figure out where her fiance could be while Henry discreetly blended into the background.
The guests were dressed in formal attire, sipping champagne, and engaged in elegant dialogues. The air was thick with a demeanor of superiority as if everyone wanted to outshine each other in wealth, sophistication, and status. Despite the lavish setting, the atmosphere felt impersonal and chilly, lacking true warmth or connection among the guests.
Matilda eventually spotted her billionaire fiance in a tailored, black peak-lapel tuxedo, perfectly fitted to highlight his lean build, after scanning the room. Being so enthralled in his conversation with other guests, flaunting his wealth and business deals, he sat with his back to her, laughing loudly, his head thrown back, showcasing his perfectively stylishly arranged black hair.
As their eyes met, he shot her a glance and dismissive smile before turning back to his conversation, reducing her to a feeling of being insignificant. His total aura screamed of arrogance and self-importance, Establishing the groundwork for the shameful events that would unwrap.
As she approached the table where her fiance was sitting with the other guest, he didn’t even bother standing up or offer her a genuine grin. Instead, he gestured to an empty chair, saying,
“ohh…You finally made it in here, I was starting to think you got lost, knowing this is your very first time coming for a luxurious gathering like this.” He said, bei
ng so nonchalant about the other guests that might hear him.
