CHAPTER 3

966 Words
Abby, a stylish young woman with long hair, bright eyes, and a warm smile, has a slender and confident air about her, dressed in a trendy black gown sat motionlessly in her plush office chair staring at the walls of the closed room, her eyes fixed on the dingy, ecru walls that seemed to close around her. A look of discontent and disappointment replaced her usual vigor. She had expected her office to reflect her creativity, but it still felt like a sterile box. She wondered why the interior decorator she had assigned for her office decoration was still taking much time after she had made payment. Abby was about to put a call through to the interior decorator when the telephone on her wide office desk rang with vibrations. “Ma, Mr. William Adams is here to see you,” Anabel spoke on the telephone, shuddering and gazing at the bodybuild, a muscular guard standing gallantly behind billionaire William Adams. Anabel was more informative than asking for permission from her boss to let them in because they weren't planning on waiting for Annabel to hang up the call before finding their way to Abby’s office “What!!” The event planner's eyes widened in astonishment, her mind racing with questions. It was only 7:45 am, and her first appointment wasn't until 10 am. She hadn't expected any clients to arrive so early, let alone Billionaire William. She felt a rush of adrenaline as she struggled to regain her composure, wondering what could bring someone of such significance to her office at such an unconscionable hour. She took a deep breath, smoothed out her dress, and made her way to the reception area, her heart skipping a beat with anticipation. SIR…SIR!!” Anabel walked up to them to stop them from entering her boss's office, but she stopped halfway when the bodyguard's piercing eyes locked on her, his eyebrows slightly furrowed in a mix of warning and courtesy. Annabel stepped back and went to her desk. As she headed towards the reception area, expecting to greet the billionaire and escort him to her office, she was surprised to find that he had already arrived at her doorstep. Guarded by a hulking figure, he stood confidently in the doorway, his piercing eyes scanning the room as if taking in every detail. The event planner felt a shudder course through their body as she took stock of the powerful physique, his tailored suit, and effortless charm displaying a demeanor of authority and elegance. The bodyguard's firm expression and discreet earpiece only added to the sense of gravitas, making her feel like she was in the presence of the President of the country rather than a mere wealthy businessman. She felt a shiver in her chest as she extended her hand, trying to compose herself. “Welcome to my office, Mr. William.” She said, her voice steady despite her racing heart. “Keep your greetings to yourself,” Williams said as he sat on one of the office plush chairs right opposite the chair Abby was sitting on a while ago. He looked around at the walls of the office Abby was complaining about earlier and was infuriated. “You mean this is all the best you can do? I wonder what Matilda saw in you that makes her think you are the right person for the contract.” He smirks. “What have you done so far for my wedding preparation?” He raises his eyebrow to look at Abby but her eyes are fixed on the tiled floor of her office as if she is looking for something she has misplaced. “Look, this is my wedding we are talking about here… like MY wedding. Do you even know who I am?” William stood on the plush chair he was sitting on, gesturing his fingers towards his chest. “I hate to see mediocrity; I love excellence; get this into that little skull of yours.” He sat back on the chair awaiting Abby’s response “All right sir. Regarding your upcoming wedding,” she cleared her throat, as she got back on her seat to get her laptop. “I’ve left spared no effort, no details overlooked, and no luxury unconsidered, sir.” She added. “From sourcing the rarest flowers from Korea to booking a private performance by a Grammy-winning artist, I’ve pulled out all the stops to ensure this wedding is nothing short of extraordinary sir. Trust me, sir, your wedding will be the most talked-about of the season.” She said with a grin sliding her opened laptop toward the Billionaire Williams to show him a design for the venue that was chosen for the bridal shower. William seems a bit impressed with what he sees, but it is not in his nature to give in so easily to people's ideas. “I want something better and more glamorous than this, this is too local. I did not drive all the way here for your blabbing to show me this thing, get something much better” He said with his eyes on his phone as he received a call from his Fiancee Matilda. “Yes sir,” Abby said, infuriated as if she was ready to go down on anyone who crossed her path. I mean who will say NO to the latest, most glamorous, and luxurious event design ever? Of course Billionaire William Adams. My God!! “Hey,” Williams said as he picked up the call and spoke to Matilda. “What?” He responded after a moment. “Wha…wha…wha.. what do you mean you are canceling our wedding?” He said angrily. “Hello…hello…hello…. Matilda, can you hear me?” “Mat…. Matilda, are you still there?”
