“This is simply preposterous!” One of the elders, Samuel, exclaimed. I rubbed the bridge of my nose in frustration, I had been in this stupid meeting all day. Word had gotten out that I had marked Wren and the elders decided to come and lay their disapproval before me.
Wren, just the thought of her made my frustration melt away. She was like a fierce, adorable kitten, like puss in boots. I smiled lightly at the thought of her glare if she knew I was comparing her to a fictional character.
Wipe that grin off your face, it's unsettling, Soren chastised in the mindlink. He was sitting next to me as the beta, he had a bored look on his face as he lightly pawed at string sticking out of his clothes. There's another fierce cat I know, only he was not adorable.
