Chapter Nine

So, Felicia told her everything from telling her dad about the gifts to Joe and his response. To her mother’s happiness over the jewelry. Then meeting her grandmother Eisha whom she was named after. How the three of them held hands and bright white light came out of all of them and then shot out and up. How Selene transferred their power to her and asked if she accepted the power being given as well as the responsibility that went with it.

“Did you?” Asked Lissa.

“Of course,” Felicia answered. “Then Selene gave me the gift of instinctively knowing what a person needs. Mom ran her finger through my hair and so did grandma. Selene kissed my forehead. I think she left a mark too. But I haven’t looked. I got to hug my whole family and say goodbye. After Selene kissed me I woke up.”

Lissa looked at her forehead. She didn’t see anything. But when she touched their foreheads she could sense the mark. “Dear you can’t see it. But I can sense it.” The silver is a symbol of your mother’s gift, and the white streak a symbol of the gift from your grandmother. The one on your forehead that few will see is the Moon Goddesses gift. Felicia, my dear. You’re a doctor without the papers.”

“That’s what Selene said. She said I’d need the paper down here but that’s all they were just pieces of paper. She also said to me that healing you proved my worthiness of my gifts. My grandmother even said I could add to her books even write them in something else cause paper dies.”

Lissa looked at her wide-eyed. “Did you say I was healed?”

Felicia just put one hand on Lissa’s heart and one Lissa’s belly and closed her eyes. Feeling the reconnection and the wholeness of her womb. She removed her hands and said, “Yes your heart has healed and been reconnected, and your womb is whole. I don’t know if you are pregnant after last night. But time will tell. I was also given a message for my dad from grandma. It made me giggle. I think I’ll tell him after the ceremony.”

Lissa hugged her and said, “Thank you. Now let’s go get you ready. I will personally do your hair and get you ready.”

“I was also told that Zella and Ella are sisters.” Lissa’s mouth dropped open.

Lissa just led her out knowing they were starting to run short on time. Luna looked and decided to curl each streak with some brown and let them hang but she wanted to make sure the earrings would still be visible. So those were put in. Luckily they were easily seen. So, the rest was curled and pinned up. The head piece was placed on her head. It covered the back curls a little bit. But for the reception it would look just as beautiful. Next Felicia moved to make up. Joy was doing it by then. Once she was done the last of the jewelry was put on and she stepped in front of the mirror. Lissa was not far behind her she just needed curls and makeup. She already had her jewelry on. The room was waiting for Felicia to turn around. So, when she did there was a collective gasp. Then a knock that made them all jump. It was Ben and Mick. They stepped in and gasped. Both speechless. Ben being Ben said, “how’d she get the streaks?”

Lissa answered, “Let’s say they’re gifts from her grandmother and mother.”

Mick said, “What??”

“Oh dad, grandma said to not be such a hotheaded brute to Ben.” Felicia repeated.

Ben started laughing while Mick’s mouth just hung open. “Those are the words my mother would have said. She told me the books are mine. I can transfer them because paper fades and dies with age as we all do.”

“Wow.” Was anyone could say cause one person said it and everyone else just nodded.

Lissa was on track. “Ok ladies lets go. Goldie where’s Joe?”

Goldie saw Chris “where’s Joe?”

“Standing outside for air.”

“Keep him there we’re moving Felicia”

“Yes dear.” So, Chris and Danny stood behind him and asked him if he was nervous and other unimportant things to keep him from looking back. Once Felicia had been moved. Goldie came up and kissed him on his cheek. Signaling that all was good. Lissa then got everyone in line. The song started and Ben and Lissa walked to the front, Ben holding her hand as they ascended the steps. The progression of couples went well including everyone remembering to use both staircases. After Goldie and Chris disappeared, Mick and Felicia stepped out. She walked to her staircase, he to his. Then they heard the first note and stepped up. At the second one they started towards the stairs staying even but going slow. When they met in the middle Mick held out his arm and she took it. What she didn’t realize was her dad was allowed to come down this one time take her other arm and walk her down the aisle. Some noticed a presence and if Felicia hadn’t been so focused on Joe she would have too. But that wasn’t important. When Mick hugged her so did her dad, which she did feel. Then he was gone. She whispered in Micks ear. “I think my dad was here. I felt his hug from behind.”

Mick whispered back, “Maybe we both walked you down.” Which put a huge smile on her face. Joe helped her up the stairs after shaking Micks hand. When Lissa was wrapping their hands the white ribbon glowed. Showing the blessed mating and marriage from Selene.

Then it was time for vows. Felicia swallowed hard. “Joe, I was told we used to run after each other as kids. That you always chased me. Now we know why. We were meant to be together. You are my forever love, my best friend, my mate. But most importantly you have my heart in its entirety. I promise to support you in everything you choose to do. Mess with you when you need it and comfort you when you need that. I love you Joe Quinn. I look forward to loving you for the rest of our lives.”

Ben then nodded at Joe. “Felicia your gifts this morning wowed and shocked me. The fact that we’re using the rings your parents used the cuff links, and the jewelry you mother wore on their wedding day, just means we are meant to be together. You are the smartest, sweetest, loveliest woman I know. I can’t wait to see what life brings. I promise to support you through the late nights. Keep your secrets and love you to the end of my days. I am honored to be your mate and husband. After putting the rings on each other. Lissa stepped forward and unwrapped their hands. Gently folding and placing the ribbon in her pocket. Ben announced that they were now officially mated and husband and wife. They then kissed most passionately and deeply. Signaling their love for one another.

Ben said, “I now introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Quinn!” With that the couple walked back down the aisle to the back where pictures would be taking place. Pictures took long enough that when they were all done. Tables had been set up. Guests were seated. The Cake was set up under the trellis.

Once everyone was seated and eating. Joe leaned over and said.” Still not going to tell me the filling flavors.”

Felicia shook her head no and laughed. Goldie was next to her and Niomi on the far end. Joe had their mates in the same order. Suddenly someone started to clink glasses. Joe and Felicia looked at each other. Someone else started chanting KISS, KISS, KISS others picked it up. Then they understood. So, they kissed. They got through dinner and Felicia went over to Goldie and Niomi and said “we forgot to fix my train let’s go behind the dais. Where’s my other tiara?”

“I’m not sure.” Goldie said.

Niomi said, “I will run up and look in the room.”

Lissa ran over, “What’s wrong?”

“My train and my other tiara.”

“I have the other one. With everything that happened I put it in my other pocket. This dress has pockets for a reason my dear.” Ella communicated with Zella, ‘sister we have the tiara. I found out in the garden we’ll explain later come back.’

Moments later they were back. Fixed the train. Someone else ran up and said where is the topper? Felicia again panicked.

Joe, sensing his mate’s panic through their bond. He ran over and said. “What’s the matter?”

“The topper where is it? Did I leave it at home I don’t remember bringing it to the room last night….”

“Relax my love.” He nodded to Chris who ran off towards Alpha’s office and brought the box. “I’ve got you.” And together they went up and placed the cake topper on top of the cake. Which shone in the lights. Taking the box to the person who ran up. They then ran away.

After a few more clinks it was time for their first dance. In which they only had eyes for each other. After the song ended Mick came out and their song played. That’s when she told him about how her mom gave her the silver streak and that grandma had given her the white one. He was amazed. Then it was Joe and his mom’s turn. Their song had all the women tearing up. Then everyone got to dance and party about halfway through the night it was cake time. But first joe and Felicia had to cut the cake. Walking up she says the bottom is vanilla with strawberry, so pick one of the other layers. They decided his layer. When they cut it and she went to feed him his eyes lit up with acknowledgement. Then it was his turn. He fed her. The cake was cut and given out. Everyone had some, even the wedding party. The top layer and topper were boxed up, separately of course. And put in one of their vehicles. Marley grabbed a few of her omega’s and said let’s help them get their car packed. Something tells me they are leaving soon. So, they did. Everything was ready. Joe led his wife up onto the dais and howled to get everyone’s attention. “Sorry folks’ best way to get everyone’s attention. We’d like to thank you all for being here. We are leaving for home. Thank you all for coming. Please enjoy yourself be happy and have fun. Good night! With that they went up one of the stairs and met Marley. “Hi Marley.”

“You’re cars are all packed with your things from both rooms. Go home and have fun.” She said as she winked. They just laughed.

“You are the best Marely. We love you!” They then ran off. Felicia got into the car her parents had bought her for a gift for high scores on her GED. And Joe got into his truck. He knew his mother would drive and give his dad a ride home. They drove home. Joe’s truck bed was filled with gifts as was the inside too, it was a good thing he had a cab type truck not just a normal three-seater. Felicia’s had gifts and boxes from her parents’ house what couldn’t fit in the truck. They went home. And he carried her bridal style into the house when they shut the door, is when the fun started. They decided that after a few times of fun. If they really had energy they’d bring some stuff in. Otherwise, they’d wait till morning. But Felicia brought up that what if it rained? So, she changed and the two of them brought everything in. Then clothes got peeled off and the fun began. Danny and Niomi went home together. They walked in the door and walked up to their bedroom and had their own slow fun.

Chris went up to Goldie and said, “Are you ready to go? Do you have extra clothes, or do you need to stop at home first?”

Goldie questioned “Go where? Oh, right I’m sorry Chris, you said you had a surprise for me. I have yesterday’s clothes, but I’d rather have clean. Can we stop by my house?”

“Of course. Do you have everything?”

Goldie smiled. “Let me just grab my bag from the room. Do you want to make sure you have everything?”

“Probably a good idea. Thanks for reminding me.” As he kissed her temple and walked off in the direction of the Alpha’s office.

As she was grabbing her bag, Goldie thought to herself. You know he’s not so bad. Just cause he messed up once doesn’t mean he doesn't love you. He was nervous. It’s obvious that he’s planned out this big surprise for you. So go with the flow girl. This man is your mate, and he obviously loves you. Not his fault, you’re busier than the rest. Besides with so many weddings coming up…she thought about it for a moment. Her wedding was seven days away. They still had to work on Niomi’s wedding dress. But had more time on that one. But the house. She still hadn’t heard anything. Every time she went to ask the Alpha or Luna about it they would find a way to change the subject or something. Were they protecting her? Or was she panicking? She took a deep breath and told herself to calm down tonight was a night of fun and surprises all because Chris had set it up for her, but not just her him too. Because he would get to see the look on her face as she saw whatever it was. At that point she was excited. And what was she doing standing here staring in a mirror. She turned and found Chris just looking at her smiling.

“What?”

“Just enjoying the view. You looked like, you were in deep thought.”

“Oh, uh yeah I was just thinking that’s all.”

“About what?”

“Well, that I haven’t been very fair to you. I didn’t have to be so mean and call attention that you hadn’t proposed. It didn’t even occur to me that you were nervous or even that you didn’t know when to. I can see how indecision can play a big part in not getting things done or even choosing something. So, I am grateful that you chose me without a question. I guess I say all that to say, I am so very sorry. I don’t know if this is a good excuse or just…” Goldie just shrugged and said, “I’ve been busy. Besides planning our wedding, I’ve also been making dresses nonstop and I’m not done. I may need to make mothers of the groom and bride dresses. At least momma Juniper is making my dress, and I haven’t even seen it. I don’t remember if I’ve got the other dresses done. But I think so. That’s why I’ve been busy. I want to spend more time with you. I’ve been worried about a house. And Luna and Alpha won’t talk to me about it they change the subject. I got our cake topper last night. Ni did a beautiful job. She’s got green trees behind us and it’s not us as people. It’s us as wolves. Howling together up at the moon that’s always above us. I want to shift with you so I can see your wolf. I’m just stressed and it’s spilling onto you. I’m so sorry.” At that she started to cry. He stopped the vehicle and unbuckled got out and came around opened her door. Unbuckled her seat and pulled her into his arms. Holding her as she cried it all out.

“Babe, I love you. The cake topper sounds amazing. It explains why she asked what my wolf looks like. I would love to shift with you and run. I have been wanting to do that for so long now. You don’t have to apologize for unloading on me, because that’s what I’m here for. I want you to remember something…” at this he lifted her head to look in her in the eye, “telling me your stresses and what’s bothering you, venting, joys, sorrows, anything…That’s. what. I. Am. Here. For. I very much love you with everything. No apologies. None. You’ll understand once we mate and mark each other. That is not me saying lets do this tonight. It’s a future thing. Tonight is a surprise I have for you. Now we are almost there. So I’d like you to close your eyes or put this blind fold on.” He said as he pulled it out of his pocket.

She laughed through her tears, hooked her arms around his neck and kissed him. When she pulled away. She took the blind fold with a look I her eye that made his heart flutter and about undid him. She got back in. He too got back in leaned over her smelling her scent made his head spin a little, grabbed the seatbelt and buckled her back in. Then himself, and he drove the rest of the way to their house. Once there he parked the truck and unbuckled them both. Then came around grabbed the bags, then helped her out of the truck. “Babe do you think you can handle carrying one of the bags?

She nodded and said, “We’re here? I guess you weren’t kidding when you said we were almost there.”

“Ok, there’s three steps, remember I’ve got you. Ok Stop. I guess we should have stopped before the steps but oh well. Unless you want to go back down.”

“We can go back down I’m ok with that.”
