EDWARD :
I'm nervous. I don't know what to say to Cat. After meeting my father and coming to know that she is coming here, to say that I lost my s**t is an understatement. I don't want her to come here and destroy what I'm trying to build with Cat here. We are still in the early stages of our relationship. We just started dating from being friends and there is progress in our relationship. Cat even started trusting me but now with her back everything that can go wrong will go wrong. My father got the message that she is coming the next day. And I'm in no mood to meet her. And I definitely don't want Cat to meet her. She will do anything to get what she wants and she wants me. The princess I was supposed to marry to improve our relationship with her country. And the princess I ran away from. After leaving I met this beautiful, innocent and feisty girl who I'm starting to fall in love with more than anything. I just don't want Cat to think of me badly. After calming down a little I turned to my father.
"Why is she coming here? We are not going to marry anymore. I'm already happily married."
"I already spoke with the king, her father before your marriage. He understood the circumstances and cancelled your wedding with his daughter. But she was not there in the country at that time and she returned back from wherever she is a few days back. She came to know that you are married and let's just say I'm glad you are not like her and not marrying her."
"You still didn't tell me why she is coming here."
"She is coming here on a diplomatic visit to oversee our shared business development."
"She knows nothing about business. There is some ulterior motive behind this."
"I know that but I still can't tell her not to come. She is a princess and is our close ally's daughter."
"I know that and I also know that she will do something after she sees Cat."
"Then I suggest you come clean about everything to Cathy before she hears it from someone else."
I left his study after that and walked around the palace for a while trying to calm myself down. I thought of how to explain all this to Cat while walking back to our room. I opened the door and found her waiting for me in the balcony. I hugged her and started talking. I know if I see her I can't tell her everything.
"I want to talk to you. I mean I have something to tell you. I never told you why I married you, right?"
She tried to turn around but I hugged her tightly and she sighed and nodded her head.
"I ran away as my father arranged my marriage to princess Jasmine. She is the daughter of one of our allies. But I didn't want to marry her. So, I ran away along with Zach to Vegas. There I'm thinking of ways to get out of that marriage. Then I saw you sitting there and was attracted to you. While looking at you I got this crazy idea to get married to you then I don't have to marry Jasmine."
"Why are you telling this to me now?"
Now how to tell her that Jasmine is coming here tomorrow? I don't even want to think about her.
"Because Jasmine is coming here tomorrow."
"Why is she coming here? You are already married."
"I know. But according to father she is coming here to look over our joint business. And she knows I'm married now."
"Ok."
"Cat, I want you to be careful around her."
"Why?"
"Jasmine is a brat. She always gets what she wants. And she wants me but I'm married to you now. This will make her angry so I want you to be really careful."
"Ok, I will be careful."
After standing there for a while with her in my arms we went inside and slept. But sleep is far away from me. Just thinking about Jasmine is making me sleepless.
The next morning I'm waiting for Jasmine's arrival along with my sister. A fleet of cars stopped before us and she stepped out. She greeted my father and turned to me. She slowly stalked towards me and hugged me and tried to kiss me. I pushed her back after she hugged me.
"Hey, Edward. I'm glad that you were back."
"Hey, Jasmine."
"So, ...."
"I'm sorry. But I have an important meeting with my father. If you would excuse me."
I didn't let her finish her sentence and left her standing there. I walked to my father's study and knocked on the door. I didn't wait for his reply and stormed in.
"What the hell is she thinking? She just hugged me and tried to kiss me."
"Calm down, Edward. Getting angry will not help you."
"How can I calm down? And when is she leaving?"
"She is staying till the project is finished. It will be roughly three months."
"Three months! I will go mad before that."
Saying that I left his study. I want to see Cat now that Jasmine is here. I found her in the library going over her course work. I locked the door behind me and sat beside her and wrapped my arms around her.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"Are you alright? What are you doing here at this time? I thought you have a meeting."
"Yes, I have a meeting and I will attend it. I just wanted to see you."
"Is everything alright, Edward? You are looking stressed."
How can she predict my moods? How does she do these things? I'm really lucky to have her in my life. She understands me so well.
"Yes, everything is alright. Jasmine is here. I just received her with Ari."
"Oh, silly Edward. Why are you getting stressed about her? Don't think about her and go to your meeting. You are already late."
She smiled a heart warming smile. God, these small things she does. She just doesn't know how much she is affecting me and how much I'm falling for her. f**k, I'm whipped. Zach would tease me to death.
"Ok, I'm going."
I am about to leave and what she did next surprised me. She pulled me back and kissed me. She really kissed me. I'm in heaven right now. I kissed her back and we pulled away after a while to catch our breath. She blushed and looked away. I brought her chin towards me and kissed her again. Just as we are really starting to enjoy ourselves there is a knock at the door. I don't want to go and open it but the person kept knocking which is quite annoying. I pulled away from her and she opened her mouth to say something but the knocking got louder. I sighed and got up.
"I will be right back."
I pecked her on the lips and took off towards the door. I'm going to kill who ever is there at the door. I ripped it open and glared at the person. Jasmine is standing there with a stupid grin on her face. I want to hit her even though it is against everything my mother taught me. Don't get me wrong. I was taught not to hit women. But I sure as hell want to hit her now looking at her face.
"What do you want, Jasmine?"
She smiled seductively at me or what she thinks is seductive and looked behind me. I knew that Cat is there and she is watching us.
"Want to go for a swim, Edward?"
Seriously, this woman is mad. She kept banging on my door just because she wanted to go for a swim. Who even goes swimming now. I have an important meeting now and she wants me to go swimming with her.
"No, Jasmine. I'm quite busy."
She pouted and came forward. She kept her hand on my chest but I pushed her back.
"Sorry, Jasmine. I have to go."
She left glaring at me. I turned around and saw Cat standing there looking like she is suppressing her laughter. I closed and locked the door.
"So, where are we?"
She blushed but answered me.
"Now where. You are about to leave for your meeting."
I stared at her and decided to tell her that I fell in love with her. I will tell her tonight. I will make it special and will tell her how much she means to me. I can't wait for her reaction and her reply. I hope she loves me too.
