MARRYING AN ARROGANT PRINCE , MY DREAM . HELL NO !

CHAPTER 9

CATHERINE :

The jet landed around midnight and there are cars waiting for us there along with security. We got in and are on our way home. I am happy that we are finally home. We went to our room as it's midnight so there is no one waiting for us.

The next day we met Edward's parents and Ari for breakfast and they are surprised to see us back so soon.

"We thought you will stay for another two weeks."

Julie or is it mom now as she insists that she wants to be called by me commented on our early return. But how to tell her that we saw everything we can there and we talked and got close to each other but we are taking it slow.

"Well Mom, Cat has college classes to attend from tomorrow and I don't want to distract her there."

"College classes?"

"Yes Dad, college classes. She already got into Princeton. Now she is going to take her classes online as she can't go to college."

"Well if she can balance her duties and course work then she can do whatever she wants."

"Yes, it's not a problem. I can balance both of those pretty well."

Just as I said that Edward shouted at his father.

"What?"

"What happened to you now? Why are you shouting?"

"What happened to me? I will tell you what happened. She can do whatever she wants but whenever I do something I like you give me hell for doing those things."

"Well, I know that Cathy will be responsible and do her duties. I also know that she will take her responsibilities as a princess seriously and not like you who is throwing a temper tantrum like a child when you don't get what you want."

"I'm not a child and I'm not throwing any tantrums."

"Henry, stop it. And Edward, stop antagonizing your father."

Mom scolded them like kids. Then she turned towards me and dismissed them like they are some unruly kids and asked me about what I saw in our trip. As I started talking to her about our trip I thought about how cool she is. She just stopped them with a few words. She is an awesome queen. Now I know why everyone respect her and also fear her.

After talking to her and Ari about our trip we looked towards Edward and his dad. They are not talking to each other and not even looking at each other. They are both staring at opposite ends of the room. Both of them are the same. They behave similarly I think that is one of the reasons for their fights.

I still sometimes get surprised looking at Henry. I can't believe that he is the one who helped me in the library and held me when I had nightmares. He was so soft spoken then but whenever he is in the presence of others he behaves differently. I think it should be expected as he is the king. But he only behaves like that with Edward.

The first time I saw him as the king was an embarrassing moment for me. We normally talk at night in the library whenever I have nightmares and he helps me get my mind off my nightmares. We became friends like that and I was surprised to see him in the room when Edward invited me to have breakfast with his family one day. I just hugged him and started talking to him like I always do and he answered me back like he always does. I think we shocked poor Edward that day. He stuttered for a while looking at us.

"How do you two know each other?"

"We met in the library one day and we talked. He lets me borrow some books from there and we discuss about those books later. We became friends. And he is the reason I decided to give you a chance."

To say that Edward was shocked would be an understatement. He opened and closed his mouth a few times with no words.

"You are friends with my father?"

"He is your father?"

It's my turn to be surprised. But that day is really memorable. For one Edward was speechless. Two I'm now friends with Edward's father. Three Edward still doesn't know what to make of us being friends. It was hilarious.

After giving the gifts I got for everyone, we had our breakfast and everyone went ahead to their duties. Edward took me back to our room.

"Cat, would you like to go on a date with me?"

"Date? Why?"

"To get to know each other better and we never went to one."

"Ok, sure. Our first date."

"Get ready by 6. I will pick you up."

"Ok, Edward."

He kissed me on my forehead and left the room. After sending the gifts I got my best friends with a guard to be sent to them I started getting nervous. Oh my god! I'm going out on a date. My first date. What to do? What should I wear? Where are we going? Why didn't I ask him about this when he was here? All these questions are in my mind. I didn't know what to do. I thought of calling Ari to help me get ready. But thinking that she will be busy I thought of getting ready myself.

I selected the dress Edward bought me when we went shopping in the village and paired it with some flats as I know I will definitely fall in heels. Edward is on time and blindfolded me saying that it's a surprise.

He took me through the palace and after walking for a while we stopped. He turned me around and removed my blindfold. I opened my eyes and gasped. We are in the garden I can see from our room balcony. But now it looks different. The whole garden is decorated with fairy lights and there is a table set for two. All my favorite dishes are on the table.

"Wow. It's amazing. And everything looks beautiful."

"Well I know you like this garden so I decorated it. But you look amazing. Not this place."

I blushed hearing him compliment me. We sat down and had our dinner talking about our day. He inquired about my classes and if I have time for my classes and other duties or not.

"May I have this dance?"

He held his hand out after we finished our dinner and dessert. I placed my hand in his and he pulled me up out of my chair and placed his hands around me and started swaying.

"There's no music."

I laughed saying this.

"Well we don't really need music to dance. If you want music close your eyes and listen. You can feel the music."

I closed my eyes and enjoyed being held by him and swaying with him. After a while when it started getting cold we went inside. He walked me to our room and looked at me after closing the door. He leaned down and kissed me. I moved closer and wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer and kissed him back. There is a knock on the door when we are in our own world. Edward moved back and took deep breaths and opened the door to find a guard standing there.

"The king called for an emergency meeting right now, your highness."

Edward looked back at me and sighed. I smiled encouragingly at him telling him he can go to the meeting.

"I will be back soon."

Saying this he left closing the door behind him. I thought that there might be a problem as they are meeting at this time but I never thought that it will be a bigger problem than I imagined.
