My face turned completely serious when I realized that Florence had heard what Maddie and I were talking about.
I couldn't move for a moment.
I watched as she froze as she slowly looked up at me. Her cheeks were also turning red.
“What...” she stammered. “I mean...”
"Whatever it is you heard, I suggest you to just choose to cover your ears and turn a deaf ear," I pointedly instructed, causing her to be even more stunned.
It wouldn't be good if someone else found out about my business with Maddie. That was a serious order from Boss Anderson. Whatever the outcome of what's happening now, he'll definitely be the one who'll be ruined. I won't let that happen.
I looked at Florence again in a serious manner. “Are we in agreement, Miss Campbell?”
