Who's Cooler?

Adriens Point of View - Going to school in my limo was the same as always... boring. I was relieved when we pulled up in front of my school. Saying a quick goodbye to Natalie, I stepped out of the car. "Hey, Alya!" I said, walking up to the girl who was standing alone. "Hey, Adrien! What's up?" She replied happily. I was confused. Why was she suddenly so happy? "Nothing, you?" She squealed. "Ladybug talked to me last night!" So that's why... "She knew my name!" She held up her phone so I could see the video. Ladybug was helping an akuma victim out of a building. She was then swarmed by reporters. I felt my cheeks warm up watching her. I remember that akuma. Easy defeat. I had to leave because I had used my cataclysm early and needed to feed Plagg. I didn't see Ladybug interact with the reporters for this particular akuma. Ladybug looked around, listening to the questions and comments from the reporters, when she spotted Alya. "Hey, Alya," She said, addressing her. It was obvious that Alya was in shock, as the phone screen wobbled as if she was about to drop it. "Keep up the good work with the Ladyblog. Bug out!" She said and swung away. Alya stopped the video. "Oh my gosh, I still freak out seeing this! I will post it to the Ladyblog right now!" She squealed. "She is so awesome!" She sighed dreamily. "She is." I sighed with her. "The way she saves everybody..." Alya said, in another world. "How she's fair and compassionate..." I recalled other akumas in my mind. Me and Alya started talking excitedly over Ladybug, Alya obviously happy to have someone understand her. "Hey, dudes, whatcha talking about?" Nino said, walking up. "Ladybug." Alya answered for me. "Who do you think is cooler, Ladybug or Chat Noir?" Nino asked us. "Ladybug." Alya said. At the same time, I replied "Chat Noir." "Looks like we got ourselves a debate, I'll be the judge on the winner of Paris' coolest superhero. You have till the end of the day to give me all of your reasons." Nino confidently said. "I'm in!" Alya said. "I'm in too!" I jumped in. "Great! Now, you may prove your points, Alya, you have a minute." Nino pulled out his phone and created a one minute timer. "And... go!" He said, pushing the button to start. "Ladybug is the coolest of the cool. She flies through Paris with an incredible weapon and fights super villains. She always gets the job done and she does it neatly. Chat wouldn't be able to take down any villains without her. He's only her sidekick." "Times up!" Nino said as his phone chimed. I felt anger bubble up inside me. How dare she say that I was Ladybugs sidekick! I was ready to argue my point. "And... go, Adrien!" Nino pushes the button to start it again. "First of all, Chat Noir isn't Ladybugs sidekick. He helps fight the akumas as much as she does. He also saves Paris and fights super villains, all with a cool weapon that can help him fly over the city. And you don't really describe Ladybug as cool, you call her brave, awesome, confident, amazing, but cool doesn't really fit her, and the category we're trying to get in here is 'cool'. Chat Noir, on the other hand, you'd use cool to describe him in the first few words. He just is. And he is way cooler than Ladybug." I closed my case just as Ninos phone chimed. "You still have a few hours left, but from what I heard, Adriens winning." He slightly scooted away from Alya. The bell that let us come inside rang, and we went to class. Marinette burst into the classroom a few seconds after the bell rang. Thank goodness the teacher wasn't here yet. "Look who's late." Chloe said. Marinette stayed quiet and slipped into her seat. The teacher came in and busied us in work. After the lunch bell rang, I turned around to address the girls behind me. "See you guys at the park?" I asked them, hoping they'd say yes so I could continue winning over Alya. Marinette made a strange expression and Alya spoke for her. "Yeah, sure." Yes!!! Say goodbye to you're chances, Alya! I turned around and grabbed my bag. Nino walked with me out the door. Alya and Marinette stayed inside, but seconds later, Alya came running up. "Ready to loose, Agreste?" She asked me. "Are you?" I tossed back. "Ha, in your dreams, you're competing against Ladybug!" She said to me. I opened my mouth, about to shoot a comeback at her when Nino interrupted me. "Where's Marinette?" He asked Alya. "Oh, she's just packing up." She said. Nino shrugged, "Okay." -At the park a few minutes later- Marinette walked up to us. I didn't want to talk about the little competition the three of us had because I felt that she would side with Alya. Alya seemed to be nervous too and glared at Nino and I, am obvious way of saying 'shut up'. Since the bench was full, I was about to get up for her to sit, but she just plopped down on the ground. "Where were you?" Alya asked. "Bathroom." Marinette replied. "Okay!" Alya said. Something was wrong with her. She was looking at us strangely, almost as if she was sad. But why would she be sad, she was one of the most optimistic people I knew. I decided to ask about it. "Marinette?" I called out to her. Alya and Nino stopped there conversation about schoolwork to look at her. She didn't move a muscle, just stared at us sadly. "Marinette?!" Alya picked up on what I was trying to do. "Huh?" She said, snapping out of her trance. "Girl, what's up with you?" Alya asked. "Yeah, you totally just zoned out there." Nino added. "Nothing, I'm just tired." She was obviously lying. "Are you sure?" I pressed. She looked at me for a second. "Yeah." She said, then looked at the three of us again. "Excuse me." She said and walked off. "Okay, so Alya, your turn for explaining why Ladybug is cooler than Chat Noir." Nino immediately said now that Marinette wasn't here. They both started to perk up. I looked back at Marinette, concerned. I caught her looking at us but quickly turned around when she saw me. What is with that girl?
