My eyes fluttered open as the morning sun filled my vision. I looked downwards and saw the still sleeping figure of Marinette in my arms. Looking at my arms, I saw that my transformation had worn off but I decided to not transform back for the time being. Marinette was asleep, she needed it. I couldn't wake her up.
I hugged her a little tighter, burying my face in her neck. I could feel her pulse against my arm.
After a few minutes, I noticed something. Her pulse was getting slower. Confused, I looked on her side of the bed, and to my horror, saw an opened white bottle with a very small amount of small pills coming out of it. Oh no.
"Marinette," I said in a low voice, not caring about my lack of the mask. "Marinette!" I said louder, shaking her a bit this time. I put my fingers on her wrist, searching for her pulse sight. I found it after a while. It was slow and extremely weak. I quickly grabbed the bottle and read the label. "MARINETTE!!!" I shouted. I heard footsteps come up the stairs, but I kept my eyes on the label, my free arm cradling the dying girl.
"What are you doing here, boy!?!" I heard a deep mans voice say, her father.
I pulled my vision to him and looked at her parents with tears forming at my eyes. "Help! She-I-I didn't-she needs help! She's not- she-" I couldn't even finish what I was going to say, the violent sobs coming from my mouth wouldn't let me say anything else.
"Marinette?" Her mother asked, coming closer to me, then seeing her daughter passed out in my arms. "Marinette!" She screamed. "Tom, quick! Go call the emergency services!" She shrieked at her husband.
Her father ran back down and I could hear his panicked voice on the phone from up here, but I didn't pay attention to that, I was captivated by Marinette, not even able to hear my own screams of panic as I tried to shake her awake.
