Emelda was born into a family that struggled to make ends meet at the Riverside of California . One very cold morning tragedy struck.

“David , David, wake up, something is not right. Your body temperature is too high ". Stephanie was making a frantic effort to wake her husband David who was fast asleep .

"What is happening?” David was weak and oblivious of his state.

"I think you have a fever. Let me check your temperature." The look on Stephanie’s face was not pleasant.

"I am fine. It is probably just a cold." David could hardly hear himself.

"No, David , this is more serious. Your temperature is high . I need to call the doctor."

"Okay, okay. Call the doctor."

Several hours later, the doctor arrived and diagnosed David with pneumonia. Stephanie was visibly worried and felt devastated.

"What are we going to do, doctor? Is he going to be okay”? Stephanie was really looking dejected, especially because they did not have money.

"He is going to need proper treatment and rest. Pneumonia can be serious, especially if not treated promptly”. The Doctor revealed.

For Stephanie it was as if the world was against her , with no family member to run to for assistance, she had to make some unpalatable decisions, David's condition was not improving.

"What is wrong, Mom, will daddy be alright ?" Emelda asked after noticing her mother talking to herself on four different occasions.

"Daddy needs a lot of care right now, and I cannot do everything on my own. I think I will need to take you and your siblings to the orphanage temporarily." Stephanie told Emelda, tears dropping from her eyes.

"The orphanage? But why, Mom? Can we not stay here and take care of him with you ?" Young Emelda asked her mom.

"I wish we could, sweetheart, but Daddy needs more than our presence right now. I cannot provide for you and the siblings, while taking care of daddy, the pressure is too much on me, once he gets better, you come back home, I promise."

While at orphanage Emelda, prayed for her daddy , their mother, herself and her siblings before sleeping everyday .

FORTUNE SMILE ON YOUNG EMELDA.

“Honey, have you thought more about what we discussed yesterday”? It was a weekend the Stones were at home relaxing.

“Yes, I cannot take it off my mind, that we should do something to help those kids at the orphanage”. Mr Anthony Stones responded.

“I agree. It breaks my heart to think of them growing up without a family”.Mrs. Anthony re echoed her husband's desire

“What if we... What if we adopt one of them?” Mr Anthony asked his wife .

“Really? Are you serious? Mrs. Anthony was elated about having a young child within their mansion, since they did not have a child of their own.

“Yes, I am. We have been blessed with so much, and it is time we give back”.Mr. Anthony was happy too.

“Then let us do it, I am very excited you came up with this decision. But how do we choose from among the children ”? Mrs. Anthony asked.

“Well, let us visit the orphanage again , spend some time with the kids, and see who will connect with us . Mr. Anthony said.

“That sounds like a great idea . Let us go this weekend”. Mrs. Anthony was eager.

“Look at them, playing over there. They all seem so sweet. How are we going to decide? Mrs. Anthony was getting confused about who they were to choose.

“I do not know. But I believe the right one will find us” . Mr. Anthony too was in the same state like his wife. Indeed a little girl approached them timidly.

“Hi, my name is Emelda''. Emelda managed to raise her voice audibly.

“Hello, Emelda. I am Mrs. Anthony, and this is my husband, Mr. Anthony”.

“Nice to meet you, Emelda. What are you playing? Mr Anthony looked at her lovingly, as he observed that she was playing with blocks.

“Just with these blocks. I like making houses with them ”. Emelda responded.

“That is wonderful! You are very talented”. Mr. Anthony praised her.

“Emelda, would you like to spend some time with us”? We will love to get to know you better” Mrs Anthony inquired from Emelda.

”Really? That would be amazing”! Emelda’s response showed she was quite excited.

They took her away to a nearby restaurant, after been granted permission and they went with one of the attendants at the orphanage. After spending time with Emelda.

“She is such a sweet girl, is she not ? Mrs . Anthony quietly talked into her husband's right ear.

“Absolutely. I think she is the one. I agree. Emelda deserves a loving family, and we can provide that for her” . Mr. Anthony confirmed.

“Let us talk to the orphanage staff about starting the adoption process”. Mrs Anthony added.

Several weeks later, Emelda was at the mansion of the Stones.

“Welcome home, Emelda”. Mr Anthony warmly welcomed Emelda into their home.

“Thank you so much. I am so happy to be here with you, your house is so beautiful “. Emelda was indeed an intelligent young girl.

“We are happy to have you, Emelda. You are part of our family now”.Mrs. Anthony said.

“We promise to love and take care of you just like our own daughter,” Mr Anthony Stones assured her.

“Thank you for giving me a chance. I promise to be the best daughter I can be”. Emelda was happy finding herself suddenly in an opulent environment.

It was Mr Anthony Stones that later financed the hospital bills of Emelda's father and her siblings returned home and lived happily.

As they embraced parenthood with the arrival of Emelda, something miraculous happened. Mrs. Anthony Stones discovered she was pregnant. Emelda's arrival seemed to have unlocked a new chapter in their lives, blessing them with the child they had longed for. A year later, their family grew as they welcomed their biological child into the world. Emelda and Eunice grew to adulthood. When Emelda was 34, Eunice was 24.

EMELDA SHOWED SUPPORT FOR EUNICE IN HER TRAVAILS WITH THEIR MOM.

Eunice was sitting inside the exotic sitting room of their father along with Emelda.

“What is the problem? Mom told me yesterday that you offended her, and she will get back at you and I asked her what you did wrong, but she refused to tell me."

“I know very well that she would not tell you what I did wrong, she would not say it. ” Eunice affirmed.

“So what did you do wrong ”?

“Emelda, can you imagine that mom is still arranging for a man to go out with me”

“Oh no, not again, I thought this matter had been settled the other time, ”.

“So I thought, but I was surprised to see Mr Stanley Wellington again yesterday, asking me out after arranging it with mom “

"Stanley, that one that does not have a steady girlfriend, I know three of his girlfriends ". Emelda revealed.

"You see, can you imagine that? That is the kind of guy mom wants me to go out with ".

“No, no, no, she is absolutely wrong, I am going to tell her everything she does not know about Stanley” Emelda said.

"Please do, because she has refused to talk to me. By the way, did she mention to you how she is going to get back at me? , Eunice inquired.

“She did not tell me, although, I must confess, I did not press her for it. ”

"That is why I am afraid. It does not mean I will change my stand though. I am just afraid, she may just hit me below the belt unexpectedly", Eunice said.

“That is true Eunice. With her unpredictability, she may indeed just hit you below the belt"

“Emelda, what you will do for me, is to please find out from her, how she wants to get back at me, so that I can prepare my mind for any eventuality. ”

“I will surely do. I am not happy with her position at all. It is wrong for her to be doing this, not at this age and time, not at all “.

“Even at her own young age, did anyone arrange dad for her? They met and fell in love with themselves. I really wonder why she is doing this to me ”.

“Do not worry my dear sister, I believe when she meets Johnson all that will change. Moreover, I want to assure you that I will give you all the support you will need for your relationship to succeed with Johnson” Emelda opened up on Johnson, who Eunice met a few weeks back.

"Please do, and I really just hope she will change. I hope so and pray she changes. Meanwhile, like we earlier agreed, for now my relationship with Johnson must be kept secret. My mom and dad are not supposed to know about it, at least for now ” Eunice said.
