Chapter 11
Danny woke to his phone ringing. He opened his eyes and was confused by the wooden walls for a moment before he remembered where he was and why. He reached for his phone and answered quickly when he saw Theo’s name and number on the screen.
“Did I wake you?”
“Yeah,” Danny admitted. He sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed.
“Sorry about that. I wanted to call before I left for work. You’re settled?”
“Yes.”
“Can you tell me where?”
“My dad’s friend has a hunting cabin. I’m sure if you spoke to him in person he could tell you more about where it is.”
“That’s safest. Were you followed?”
“No.”
“Good. How’s she doing?”
“She wasn’t injured. She’s probably going to be hungry when she wakes up. There’s a small community nearby, I’ll go there for groceries.”
