Chapter 20 Mitchell awoke with thoughts of Charlie flooding his mind. He recalled their conversations, scrutinizing every minutiae. Why hadn’t he confessed that they’d once met? Why did he insist on keeping the world at bay? Now it was too late to come clean. Too late to make an honest go at anything with him. He thought about the magazine and he thought about Harris. He hit the snooze button on his cell phone, and then tossed and turned for another ten minutes before getting up. He couldn’t get comfortable; he kept rearranging his arms, legs and hands around his body and his head. Throwing in the towel, he walked naked to the bathroom and examined himself in the mirror over the sink. He ran a hand across his short-trimmed beard. Time to shave it off?
