The crowd had slowly dispersed over the last two hours. Most people left after their reading, but a few diehard fans stuck it out to the end. Sweat dripped off Harris’ forehead; he’d finished his multitude of water bottles and had to wipe his hands off on a handkerchief Tucker found for him.
Harris sat on the stage with a middle-aged man. He took the man’s hand in his, felt his stomach rolling.
“Your soul mate’s waiting for you. He’s in a relationship, it’s going nowhere. I see Christmas presents. Busy stores, electronics. That’s where you meet, while you’re shopping.”
“How will I know him?” the eager man asked.
“Oh, you’ll know.”
