The Commander - The Plan Worked

I look through the frost portal and watch the pretty kitsune wander through town. She was sent like the Queen said she would. I cut off the magic of the portal and walk towards the Everwinter Witch's throne room. I step up to the dais and kneel, not raising my head until she gives permission.
"Elias," she calls me by my name, "Please, come and tell me the news."
I raise from my knees and walk up to my queen. I stand to the right of her and lean down to tell her what I had seen. "She was sent to the city. She found the area of frost blight. She should be being lead on a wild goose chase. We have time to get there and grab her when you give the order."
"Perfect, pet. You do such good work," she says as she pets my cheek. She digs her nails into my skin just enough to cause a bite of pain, but not break the skin. "Continue the plan."
"As you wish, majesty." I say. I stand before her, bow, then leave the room to gather a team for the next phase of the plan. As I continue the plan, all I can do is compare the little guardian and the queen. They are so different. The queen is cruel and evil, but the little guardian, from what I was able to observe, is quite kind, gentle, and good. I wonder what the little guardian did to anger the queen.
