Chapter 4

Cole p.o.v.

Its been 3 years and it the day of my first shift. I'm so excited that I took on 3 extra fights today. All the fights I do pay well and father gives me some of the money to spend how I please. I usually do 2 fights daily and win most of the time. Being the youngest fighter in the Blood Moon pack, the cruelest pack, at 10 years old and winning against 16 year old. I have never killed anyone in the fights but father says that when I turn 16 I will have to to prove that I belong in this pack. This is not my home pack and he is not my father but I learned early on to never disobey him or I get a beating. The alpha of the Blood Moon pack is Alfonso Antonov and he just plain evil. Alpha Alfonso makes sure that everyone in the pack has some basic fighting training and whatever else they want to specialize in such as a pack doctor.

The cage is were most of the fighting takes place but there is also an outdoor arena. The cage is all metal with chains covered in wolfsbane hang from the ceiling and dried blood covering the floor in spots. I love fighting in the cage for my opponent has little to no room to move around. My first fight was when I was 9 so that I could eat and when I won the fight Alpha saw me fight with precision. He said that I should have more intense training and start fighting in the cage so I did.

The Alpha and father both know that today is my first shift and from what I hear its painful when you first shift. I'm so excited to finally be able to see my wolf and mind link the pack members. New wolves have to shift in the basement to keep everyone else safe in case you can't control your wolf. I'm headed to the basement now to get ready.

"Do I really have to go in here?" I ask Alpha Alfonso.

"Yes. For the safety of yourself and other pack members." he replied cooly.

I walk into the damp room and see the walls covered in long claw marks everywhere. A wave of pain hits and sends me falling to the floor.

"Its starting. Everyone out. You can do this Cole and remember don't fight it." he says.

"Mother fucker.......shit.....ouch...." I scream in pain while feeling my bones crack into different places and rearrange themselves.
