Nia's Pov
"Mate we are alpha" He said. My jaw dropped straight to the floor and my eyes went wide.
"Al...Alpha? You are alpha??" I asked stuttering. He nodded.
"You are kidding. Right??" I said but he is looking at me with a serious expression.
"You are not kidding?" I asked more to myself than him.
"But how?? You are just nineteen. In most of the books, the alpha position is given at the age of twenty-one. But at the same time, they are fiction so they might be wrong. No one really knows about your traditions anyway." I said everything in just a breathe.
"Mate surprisingly, the allotment age written in the books are true. But because my parents died when we were sixteen, we took the role of alpha early" He replied.
"Ohh. But wait if you are the alpha then that means I am the Luna" I asked to confirm. How can I be a luna? I am not fit for the role.
"Yes mate you are the Luna of our pack." He confirmed.
"But Sam. How can I? I don't know a thing about being a Luna. In most of the books that I have read either, there is a happily ever after or some kind of duties but it is never specified what kind of duties. On top of that, those are fictions, there is only one percent of reality" I panicked.
"Mate calm down. I think Lucifer can tell you better about all of this. So I am giving him control back but I will miss you" with that said, he kissed me on the cheek.
"I will miss you too Sam" I kissed him back on the cheek.
Lucifer's eyes turned back to normal.
"I think you like Sam more than me. You both were even plotting against me" he pouted.
"Aww Luci, you know it's not like that. Now stop whining, we have more important things to talk about." I said sternly, lightly hitting his arm.
"Ok princess as you say. Well, you don't have to worry about duties. You will be trained for it"
"But I thought that she-wolves are pre-trained to become a Luna"
"Princess, it's not always the case. Because every Alpha is not mated to a daughter of Alpha. Like I am mated to you, some are mated to omega or other shifters so only the daughters of Alphas are pre-trained. For you and others they are trained according to who they are mated."
"Then I am relieved" I took a breath of relief.
"Wait a minute, if you are a werewolf then our other friends are too??" I asked.
"Yes, John is my beta, Ellie is John's mate and beta female, Tina and Mint are gammas of the pack as both of them are twins, so they have the same power and rank"
"Sugar I hope I have answered all your questions. If you have any, you can ask about it tomorrow. You must be tired from the day. I will drop to dorm" he said while patting my head.
"Did you just call me Sugar? Why?"
"Because Sugar my surrounding is like spices to me. You are the only one who can save me from it. You are my safe place Sugar" tears welled up in my eyes after hearing it.
"You are so good to me Luci"
"Thanks for the compliment Sugar. Now let's go"
He took my hand and started to move but I didn't. He turned back around and asked,
"What happened, baby??" He loves me and trusts me. He told me his secret. I should trust him back. I will tell him about my secret as well.
"Luci I want to tell you something. Will you please sit down?" I said with a serious face.
"Of course Sugar"
"Luci you trusted me with your secret. Now I want to tell you mine"
"Ok Sugar"
"So do you know about Carlson & co.??"
"Yes Princess, they are the biggest company in the country"
"So?" He asked. I gave him a look. His face scrunched up in confusion for a second then the puzzle solved in his head and he looked at me wide-eyed.
"That can't be true Sugar. They have no child"
"I know Luci they have no child. They adopted me from my adopted parents"
"Does that even make sense?"
"Yes, it does. It happened two years ago. There was an event at my school and he was the chief guest there. He saw that I was the one who got most of the awards so he investigated me. He found out that I was adopted. So he met my adoptive parents and asked to adopt me. He offered them five million dollars and they instantly agreed cause I was not their real daughter"
"But sugar then why did they even adopted you?"
"Because I was a bright student from the start. I used to win lots of scholarships and prizes, so my adopted father thought it would be great to adopt me. They will get lots of money" I was sniffling.
"Baby calm down. It's okay, now they are not your parents"
"That's why my surname is Carlson. I changed it at the time Mr Carlson adopted me. My previous surname was smith"
We sat there for a long time hugging each other.
"Sugar it's ok. Now I am with you. No one can harm you now"
I touched my necklace.
"You know Luci this is the only thing I have from my real parents. They left me" I cried
He holds my arms and said,
"Sugar they were just a small part of your life. I am your everything and I am telling you that I will never leave you."
His hands accidentally grazed the mark on my elbow.
"Sugar how did you get this mark?"
"That's a story for another time, Luci. It's almost midnight. Let's go"
"Let's go Sugar" We walked towards the car, hand in hand and without hearts full of love and trust for each other.
