Lucifer’s Pov
“Lucifer do you remember last year’s international science competition??” Ellie asked. Can’t she see me happy? Does she have to ruin my mood by asking about that?
“Yes” I replied glaring at her. I am definitely going to make her clean the house.
I don’t know but when the question is asked all girls had a teasing grin on their faces and were looking at Nia and she was looking tensed.
“Do you know who won the competition??” She asked. Why is she even asking those useless questions? I am here to spend my time with my mate not to spoil my mood.
“No. But why are you asking?? You know everything that happened there?” I replied to Ellie.
“What happened there?” The question came from Nia and how can I refuse my mate when she is looking at me with those cute curious eyes?
“When the announcer announced that I was the first runner up and not the winner, I got angry and went back to the hotel room. John took the award for me. I forbade them to tell me the name of the winner but I knew that she was a girl and I really hate her. If I ever met her I will kill her.” I told her, with hate clear in my eyes.
Of course, my ego was hurt. What else can be expected from an Alpha? Our intelligence is our pride and my pride was hurt that day.
Her face paled and tears came in her eyes.
“I will be back” she said and went away.
“Mint go with her,” Ellie said to her and she quickly went to her.
“What happened to her?” I asked Ellie, confused by her behaviour.
“Do you have to say that hate and killing part?” Ellie scolded me but I am still confused.
" Even if I said that, why does that concern her??” I asked. She looked at me with a duh look.
“Because she was the girl who won that competition, you dumbhead.” Ooh, God, that’s why she ran away.
“You have hurt our mate you fool” Sam growled in my head.
“How am I supposed to know that she was the same girl?” I replied.
“Don’t waste your time here and go to mate. Comfort her.” I agreed.
“That’s why she looked familiar” John said.
“John you are good for nothing. You can’t even remember a persons face. If you have told me sooner I wouldn’t have said that. Now my mate is upset, what will I do now, you i***t??” I said and then it hit me. Oh God, what have I said?
As I turned my head, I saw that Ellie, Tina and John were frozen and their eyes widened.
“What do you mean mate?? Ohh God she...you mates. Oh, God.” Ellie said while holding her head.
′I will talk with you all later, meet me in the packhouse.′ I said through the mind link.
I ran in the direction where she went. I saw her sitting on the bench outside the bowling alley. She was crying and Mint was comforting her.
When I was near enough, I heard her saying,
“No, he hates me. How do you know he would have not said the same thing even if he knew it was me? I am not even his friend.” she said crying.
“See how much she is hurt because of you. Next time use your words carefully.” He said.
I am annoyed so I blocked him.
I went to her and said,
“Nia” she looked up. As soon as she saw me, she got up and start walking away. I quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her. She crashed into my chest. We were directly looking into each other’s eyes.
“I am sorry Nia. I am really sorry.” I quickly said to her.
Mint’s Pov
We all were talking then Ellie started talking about the competition. Everything was going right but then Lucifer said,
“When the announcer announced that I was the first runner up and not the winner, I got angry and went away. John took the award for me. I forbade them to told me the name of the winner but I knew that she was a girl and I really hate her. If I ever met her I will kill her.”
Ohh God what has he said? Her face paled and her eyes became teary. She ran away.
Ellie told me to go to her. I nodded and went to her.
I saw her she was sitting on a bench crying.
“Ooh Nia stop crying, he doesn’t mean it. He just said it out of anger. If he knew that it was you then he would have never said that.” I tried to console her.
“No, he hates me. How do you know he would have not said the same thing even if he knew it was me? I am not even his friend.” she said crying.
Before I can say anything else Lucifer came and called Nia.
She started going away but Lucifer pulled her towards him. She crashed into his chest. But that was not that shocked me it was the next thing Lucifer did shook me.
“I am sorry Nia. I am really sorry.” Lucifer apologised.
I mean he never apologised to anyone in his life, yet here he is, apologising to Nia.
But why? Is she someone special? I don’t think it’s the case.
Alpha mind linked me, 'Go to everyone else. We will be going back' he said in his alpha tone.
“Yes alpha” I replied and went back to them.
“Guys, what the hell is happening? Alpha apologised to Nia. Let me rephrase it, the Alpha of the biggest pack in the whole world apologised to someone and to top all of that, it's a human.” I said and they just nodded.
“Are you guys not shocked?” I asked.
“What we heard a while ago is more shocking” They said.
“What have you heard??” I asked.
“It’s better if alpha will tell you. We have to go to the packhouse tonight.” John said.
I nodded. What is happening? God knows.
